"Superb Moroccan hotel"
Located right within the Medina (city walls), this hotel has beautiful architecture and you would never find it yourself as down narrow alley ways. Staff very helpful and dinner was good but we found breakfasts to be poor.
"Fabulously charming place"
This hotel was our first taste of Morocco, and it was absolutely amazing. Our taxi dropped us near the medina wall and we were met by a hotel porter with a luggage cart. We felt a bit daft dropping our little rucksacks into the cart, but the porter was as charming and professional as if we'd loaded a full set of monogrammed suitcases into his cart. He led us through a few winding alleys, then through the hotel's guarded front entrance. When we first walked into the hotel's lobby and glimpsed the beautiful interior courtyard it took my breath away. Winter sunshine, rippling water, birdsong, flowering plants. You will love this place. The staff are highly professional, nothing is too much trouble, and the breakfast buffet is fantastic, a finely-judged blend of European and north African goodies. I also enjoyed a glass of wine and a saucer of salted pistachios on the roof terrace on Christmas Day!
"Surprise Behind the Door"
My Husband & I stayed here last March - right at the end of a rather hectic three weeks travelling. It is an oasis amongst the chaos - located inside the Medina walls. Beautiful Riad - received an upgrade to a suite which was fantastic. Great staff, extremely helpful, even better food & so close to everything in Marrakech - easy stroll to shop. Arranged collection for airport drop off & gorgeous porter threw our bags into his little cart for the short walk up to the main road.
"Beautifully restored but do not pay at the hotel"
I booked this riad as a birthday present for a dear friend, eleven months before the due date. This riad was carefully restored by the father, who sadly passed away and now is run by the daughter with the help of a manager. I knew what the total cost should be but with this particular stay I had to pay at the hotel on the day. The hotel charged us a far higher exchange rate than the bank to convert dirhams to sterling. Furthermore the hotel charges 200 dirhams per personne to collect or drop off to airport when in fact it only cost £3 by bus to or from town centre. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. They've always greeted us with a smile but it was a shame that the warm welcome did not come from the management level. I came face to face with the manager and the assistant manager and yet we were just ignored. I felt this hotel was about making you pay for every single item including bottled water when it should be on the house, especially after paying for a suite room.
Myself and husband had a 2 night stay, we were picked up from the coach station by the hotel, a very warm greeting when we arrived, the hotel is beautiful so much to see, our room was as good very comfy bed with lovely decor, breakfast was good plenty to choose from meats cheese eggs fresh fruit, great location for the main square we wanderd in and out of the busy souks getting lost several times but good fun lots to see and buy all in all a wonderful experience, staff very friendly we would def stay here again.
