Palazzo Abgnale is located in the heart of the town, only 30 meters from the main square of Sorrento.

"Excellent location - had few issues too!"
We stayed in this hotel for 2 days. Coming from Pompeii in Circumvesuviana train - less than 5 minutes take you to this hotel. Christmas tree lighted wonderfully is just 2 minutes walk away and we could see that from our hotel balcony as well. Villa Communale in a short walk is an excellent place to get amazing views of Mountain and town. Large super market is just opposite in a short walk. Location made it easy for us to take SITA bus - one day to Amalfi and Ravello then next day to Positano with a few minutes walk. Returning back to Naples airport through Curreri Viaggi bus was also easy without any need to take taxi. Inside the hotel, breakfast was decent. Each room is themed in particular color and our green room had everything green - we do liked it and not sure everyone will. TV did not work properly with not able to change channels. Shower stall is too small and also with a little gap between the shower doors water spills out and made the floor messy. With little children requiring bath support this will be a difficult part. I will recommend this hotel considering the positives.
"Beautiful Sorrento "
When I first checked in to Palazzo Abagnale I felt a little underwhelmed. The coloured decor takes a bit of getting used to (our whole room was cast in a green light), and I immediately noticed the hard and slightly lumpy mattress. BUT.... as our four night stay progressed I found myself falling in love with this little hotel and its staff. The location couldn't be better: right in the heart of town, walking distance from everywhere. They have recently changed their breakfast system, and now have a proper breakfast room with two lovely ladies serving eggs (albeit cold ish- but you can ask them to make them fresh if you want), espresso coffee, croissants, brioche, cold cuts, cereal, fruit, cakes and toast. It was an unexpected bonus! I loved the little balcony with views out to the street and was was also surprised at how much these doors blocked the sound when closed. Our air con worked fine (unlike other reviews) but it wasn't very hot to start with. I had to ask for blankets as there were only sheets on the bed. I think they would really benefit from having proper quilts/ comforters on the beds. The real gem was the staff. They were so willing to help with everything, from figuring out the TV, to booking tours and generally answering all our questions. We were sorry to be leaving by the end, and hope to visit this wonderful town again one day. Unless I win the lottery in the meantime, Palazzo Abagnale will be my first choice!
"Great location and value"
This is more a guest house than a hotel as there are very few rooms. Each room has a different theme, (white, orange..). It is on the main street but no big signage. When you do arrive you might have to buzz to get in and after you check-in you use your card to enter. You will need to go up a few stairs to reach the lobby. Breakfast was included and you order each morning and was delivered to your room, Good selection and portions. Staff was friendly and very helpful. There are lots of restaurants near by as well as the "old" part of town which have great little shops. Would stay here again.
"Perfect location "
This is a beautiful small hotel in the very centre of sorrento. The bedrooms are very modern and exceptionally clean. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and always arrived very quickly after it was ordered. There is no dining or bar area so breakfast is normally ordered to your room. However there is a small terrace on the roof which you can use for a small group to have breakfast together. The central location could not be better and I would recommend this hotel for a short stay in sorrento.
And by interesting, I mean slightly odd. First off, this hotel is easy to miss. Had we not been traveling with a driver who dropped us off in front of the hotel, we would definitely have missed it as the door from the street is pretty nondescript. The hotel clerk that checked us in was fairly efficient, although someone only staffs the desk from 9am to 9pm I believe. And from then on out, there is a guard. Thankfully we didn't have any issues overnight, but I'm not sure who would contact if you did as the hotel does not appear to be staffed after that. There is a set of stairs that need to be climbed to even get to the front desk, which can be troublesome if you have heavy bags. There is no elevator as far as I could tell. The hotel itself has three stories, and there is a small elevator that can take you to your room once you have checked in. I actually got stuck on the elevator going up (scary!) and after that, just used their stairs to get to and from my room (the stairs are outside, however) and you can hear your fellow guests using the stairs if your too is by them which can be slightly annoying. The A/C in the room was barely working. I turned it on and left the room, in the hopes that it would cool down while I was away. But unfortunately, no luck! The room requires that a key be in the system at all times.. even at night though, the room never seemed to cool down fully. I slept with all of the windows open. Breakfast in the morning was a pleasant affair. It is brought up to your room, so you can leisurely eat in the privacy of your own room. My room was lovely. It had its own balcony! But the beds were a little too hard. Very close to the pain square in downtown Sorrento, and the location could not have been better. Also very close to the train station, making it very convenient to get in and out of the city.
