"What a shame !"
At first glance, the hotel looks very impressive, but it soon becomes apparent that it's all show. The chap on reception was extremely offhand and could not even tell us whether the Hospital Purpan was within walking distance. He said he had no idea. We eventually discovered it was just across the road, which he must have known. The bedroom was undeniably comfortable but the door to the balcony was jammed shut so we couldn't open the door/window for fresh air and outside on the fake grass were dozens of cigarette ends and spent matches - ugh !!!!! We didn't take the breakfast as it was massively overpriced. All in all, all show and no soul. We did report the jammed door and were met with a smile and "thankyou, I'll note that" A hotel for businessmen who are on expenses. As I said, what a shame - won't be staying there again.
We chose this hotel for the spa facilities, it is quite a way from Toulouse city centre, do not be fooled by the spa facilities it shows because they are not included and the cost is 40 euro per person to have a sauna and hammam, unbelievable, it's like one of those cakes you see in a shop window looks amazing then when you bite into it you get a horrible taste, rooms are average but I would say comfortable but certainly over priced for the location. Would not recommend this hotel and we will not be staying here again.
"Room for Improvement"
I had two nights in Palladia. The Interieur comes into ages now. This means there has been dirt spider webs marks from cigarettes (even in non smokers room) ... So 20years ago it has been stylish and nice.Breakfast ok, but expensive. In consequence I may would stay in Palladia again, but only during simmer vacation whilst the prices are more reasonable
"no restraurant or bar on a Sunday"
Travellers beware, do not book this hotel for a Sunday night stopover. My wife and I booked this hotel in May for a Sunday night stopover on our way to Spain. After 7 hours in the car we found the hotel and were looking forward to a nice meal and drink. Imagine our astonishment to be told by the man on the desk that the restraurant and bar were not open on a Sunday. This is Toulouse, 5 minutes away from an international airport, not a sleepy little village in the Pyrenees. Fortunately for us behind La Palladia is a Novotel and they do provide their guests with food and drink on a Sunday. Nowhere on the hotel website does it state the restraurant and bar are not open on a Sunday. Incidentally, a month before we were due to arrive at the hotel, I sent them an email requesting a reservation in the restraurant. They didn't even have the decency to reply back to me warning us of the Sunday closures.
This hotel was a nice surprise for me. The only downside might be its location; you have to use tram and metro to get to the city center. For the rest positive remarks: friendly staff and a clean room. In this hotel I found a unique combination of: room window can be opened; working climate control; shower high enough for tall dutch people; water cooker with coffee/tea; very good hair dryer. The restaurant is also quit good (dinner, breakfast was average). The architecture (in/outside) of the building is not the style I like, but the positive items I experienced were enough compensation for that.
