We loved every moment of our 4-night stay here (as did our friends). The location is ideal, all our rooms were spacious and comfortable (with modern furniture, strong showers, and even terraces), and we enjoyed relaxing on the hotel's small rooftop as well as breakfasts in the beautiful dining room and garden. Just as important, the staff was always cheerful and helped us with whatever we needed. We'd highly recommend this boutique hotel!
We arrived at the hotel very early, around 6am after an exhausting 20 hour travel, fully not expecting to receive a room until check-in time. The front desk attendant was amazingly accommodating storing our bags, offering us beverages and fruit while we sat in the lobby killing time until the neighborhood restaurants opened. We wondered out for breakfast and when we returned around 9am to our surprise our room was ready and our bags already there, way before official check in time, which was very much appreciated! We stayed on the top floor in room 84. The top floor only has two rooms and hosts the rooftop wading pool. The room was quiet, modern and comfortable, and the view overlooking the city was amazing. The top floor rooms are the only few without balconies, but I preferred the unobstructed city views from the huge windows anyway. Only downside was that the Wi-Fi signal was weak at best, often non-existent, because of the distance to the lobby. In the lobby and the restaurant it was very good so we just did our daily internet browsing downstairs during breakfast. I highly recommend the in-room massage, which was very reasonably priced compared to the rates we are used to in the US. In addition to the cleanliness and comfort of the hotel, the staff of Palo Santo was absolutely amazing. Everyone we interacted with was very pleasant, accommodating, and friendly. The front desk staff spoke very good English, which is not common in Argentina. It was a nice touch since our Spanish is very limited. Alice especially was super nice and a great local resource. She told us the best ways to get to places and helped us figure out how to use the train and metro like locals. When we checked out she arranged an early morning private car to take us to the ferry terminal, which again was very reasonably priced and so much fancier than a taxi. The best part was that the hotel accommodated us even after we checked out by storing some of our luggage for a few days while we visited Montevideo. All in all 5+ star service!!!
"Amazing Location, Beautiful Rooms, and Best Hotel Breakfast I Have Ever Had"
The location of the hotel is perfect, right in the heart of Palermo, the coolest area of Buenos Aires. Its not near all the the touristy spots, but just a cute neighborhood feel. The room is big, with a really nice shower. Very comfortable yet modern. The breakfast is absolutely incredible. This makes it a 5 star. Best hotel breakfast I have ever had. Pastries, yogurts, prepared to order eggs, parfaits, cheeses, meats, homemade lemonades, fresh squeezed juices, granola, fresh fruit, fresh avocados. And its FREE BREAKFAST!
"Can't believe the reviews."
I just stayed at the Palo santo hotel. The pictures and review led me to think that this was a luxury boutique hotel. It's not. The grout on the bathroom was stained an there was moldy corners. The furniture in the living room was uncomfortable. The furniture on the tiny terrace was uncomfortable too. The pool is 18 inches deep. I wouldn't go back.
"Well suited to a stay of several days"
The main strength of the hotel is the size and comfort of the rooms they are modern and stylish and because they had ample seating the rooms was a haven after sightseeing and before venturing out for a meal. Less than 10 minutes' walk form the Palermo metro station and there are many good restaurants nearby. Be aware that the breakfast does not start until 8.00 am at weekends - need to plan for this if you are taking a day trip with an early start (eg to Colonia)
