It is an excellent hotel, well located, beautiful view of the Rivers , staff is very helpful and attent. Rooms are clean and comfortable. I could easily arrange through them tour so the falls. the only inconvenient was that they do not exchange money in the hotel and the money exchange is about 10 blocks away. Breakfast not bad but could be better. The coffee was very good.
The hotel was nice, clean and appeared to be friendly - but appearances can be deceptive. I was blatantly ripped off by the reception staff and wouldn't go any where near the place ever again. I told the staff I would write this review if the issue was not resolved so here it is. I gave the guy in reception 300 pesos (£15) to pay for a DVD of my trip at the falls. The guy arrives with the DVD and the money has disappeared! Blatant liars. I was made to feel like a thief, so gave the hotel another 15 quid to stop the hassle! Not only are you being pick pocketed by the kids on the street. The hotel staff were just as bad. Avoid this place!
"Average hotel with lucky location "
Very average accommodations. In reviewing the others' comments, after incurring $20.00 for bottled water in a location where it is necessary and not a luxury, is an insult. Poor (slow) service at restaurants and even the pool bar, is surprising. Food was average. I'd skip this one if I came again to Iguazu.
Location was great, the complimentary breakfast is decent. Hotel is in close walking distance to the local market and restaurants. The wifi was not the best, was a bit spotty but maybe because of the overall area. Outdoor pool was fun. You literally overlook the Paraná River
"Panoramic Grand -lovely views and sunsets from a river view room."
The Panoramic Grand is an oldish hotel that was completely refurbished some years ago. It has spectacular views from the river facing rooms that also look down on the pool and wonderful sunsets, however the rear facing rooms look like they currently overlook a building sight. We had a first floor river facing room. It was small as was the bathroom but the bed was comfortable and the air con worked well. Didn't like Peso 110 charge for a litre bottle water, however the barman made great inexpensive cocktails so I forgive the hotel for the water charge. We didn't eat in the main restaurant because it always seemed empty and the lighting wasn't great, so we ate in the lobby bar. There was a limited menu however the Panoramic Hamburger was great and wine, either by the bottle or glass was really well priced. If there were negatives, there were very few staff that spoke English and the pool was unheated but once you were in it was fine. However the large heated hot tub/Jacuzzi became a swimming pool for kids; not great! I should also mention that in the late evening we spotted a man spaying bug killer around the pool area, so not a single mosquito bite. I was surprised by the 30min taxi to the Iguazu falls but it wasn't expensive and the hotel booked us a excellent car and driver that came back at our pre-arranged time to return us to the hotel. All in all this was a good experience and it is likely we will stay at the Panoramic Grand the next time we visit Iguazu (although the last time was fourteen years ago).
