"Perfect location "
Our room was the perfect size. Granted we knew it wouldn't be the size of our master bedroom or close to it. However it was enough for our two big luggages enough for us to move around. Bathroom size was great. The location was absolutely amazing. We walked everywhere with the exception of the airport and train although the drive wasn't long at all, we just couldn't do it with our bags. We walked right outside the hotel and faced the amazing pantheon. We walked not even 14 minutes in one direction and we were at the trevi fountain and 10 minutes the other way and you're at piazza navona. We walked to the colosseum one morning it took us a little over 20 minutes and we had gotten lost. All our walks were amazing especially coming back from the Vatican. The only thing Is the walls are thin, we felt like everyone could hear us since we could hear everyone else. In conclusion we thoroughly enjoyed Rome and a big part of that was the location of our hotel.
"Cant recommend this hotel, and wont be returning"
The hotel is in a good location and within walking distance to most places, unfortunately this is all the positive things I have to say on this hotel. The restaurants close by were also very nice. This trip was a surprise holiday for my husband 30th birthday and it was ruined by the attitude of this hotel. The hotel lack basic customer service. I booked this hotel in August of last year and made it very clear as to why we was visiting and not once throughout our entire stay was my husband wished happy birthday. The hotel can’t say they wasn't aware as it was on the confirmation, his date of birth on his passport which they took a copy of and the birthday cards in our room. This tell me they don't think much of their guests. A few other bits as to why we would not be returning... We were 2 hours delayed coming out to Rome and I had arranged with the hotel a private transfer from the airport to the hotel. I emailed the hotel to check that our driver would still be there 2 hours later then our expected time and I received an out of office so I could only hope that the driver was there. The reception desk closes at 7pm and no out of hours email, I was unable to call as I was on the plane so my only option was to email. Thankfully our driver was there when we arrived however I did not receive an email back from Laura / hotel ensuring that we were ok and if we had checked in ok. Small details like this make a difference. As an FYI on our confirmation it showed they offer a shuttle bus service but this is misleading as what they offer is a private service that's cost €60. If you plan on arriving late you will be meet by a porter and given a basic welcome which is a map, bedroom key and pointed to the lift. A note to hotel staff, your guests can arrive at all times during the day morning, afternoon, evening and night so all staff should be fully trained on how to check your guests in and offered the same service as those that are checking in during of reception hours. When we arrived to our room as we always do we read the information provided by the hotel, we found information which stated our room was a Jacuzzi room, this was located under the bed. When we used this we found that it didn't work and my husband ended up cutting himself on the metal plate surrounding the buttons it was extremely sharp. I spoke with Christina on reception the following morning as the reception was closed the night before, we mentioned that the Jacuzzi was not working and that my husband cut himself, she went on to explain that we were not allowed to use the Jacuzzi, but even after I informed her was we was not informed that we couldn’t upon check in and only we only found out that we had a Jacuzzi was due to the information left in our room by the hotel. I went on to explain that the information should be removed. Christina became rude and did not apologies once for this misunderstanding on the hotel part and did not offer any help or check my husband was ok due to the injury my husband sustained and took no responsibility, all she kept saying was that she was going to inform the manager. Upon returning to our room that evening after 7pm when reception was closed we found that the power to the button to raise the bed so the Jacuzzi could be used had been cut off and no information was left in our room or an apology. This is by far one of the rudest hotels in have stayed in. A couple of other things, we found out you don't have a choice between air-conditioning and heating. This is controlled by the hotel, I asked if we could have the air-con on but was informed that because we came in their winter regardless that it was 20c outside the heating was on, our room was extremely warm and had to ask for a fan. The walls are very thin to the point we could hear those using the bathroom next door, talking etc, the staff were extremely noisy when doing their work so if you want a little lay in, it won't happen. on our last night the entire hotel had no hot water, we called the out of hours porter to say we had no water he came to our room turned the tap on in the bathroom and then left. We did not receive a call or a knock of the door providing us an update, I had to call back and was informed that a Plummer was called, asked when it would be fixed his reply was no idea someone coming. Not sure how a hotel loses hot water. We had a standard room which are very small and have a very weird layout to it for example the shower is located right next to the bed within touching distance when you’re lying down, it is not in bathroom area. Also had electrical near the shower. We very much enjoyed our trip to Rome but if we return to Rome, we won't be returning to this hotel and I won't personal be recommending it to anyone.
This hotel is in an 18th century building, and you can definitely tell they made use of the space the best that they could. The rooms aren't all consistent shapes or sizes compared to North America, but it added character. I read that the walls were pretty thin before our trip, and I'll have to confirm that some evenings noise was a bit of an issue, but not enough to complain over. Our room was cleaned every day to satisfaction, and the staff were all very friendly. The best part of this hotel is certainly the location. You are right next to the Pantheon plus anything you would like to see is just 20 min or less walk (Vatican, Colosseum, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and the main shopping street). There were tons of restaurants, gelato and souvenir shops to choose from as well as a pretty big (for Rome) grocery store complete with cheap wine and any toiletries you may have forgotten. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. If you are a tall/large person, you may prefer to upgrade from the base rooms to allow a more comfortable stay. I am 5'7" and was comfortable, but my 6 foot husband sometimes hit his head in the shower.
"Best View I've ever had in a hotel room. GREAT HOTEL"
Well, words cannot explain how much i loved staying here. Upon arrival, they advised us they were giving us a room with a view, which i don't think I had booked, We had room 501 which was the only room with a balcony looking over Pantheon Square, This view blew my mind, to walk out every morning to see The Pantheon could never be boring. The actual hotel room was lovely, just enough room for 2, and had some great touches like a pillow menu so you can choose how you like your pillow. Overall, great value for money, great location, great everything.
"Rome in February at the Pantheon"
Our family stayed at the Pantheon Royal Suite in the Junior Suite for a week with our two children ( 7 and 9). It was fantastic. I called before I left to set up a car to pick us up from the airport. It was sooo easy and they the stay was so helpful. Upon check in the staff provides you with a map and are happy to help with any questions you might have. They also reminded me to have them book a car for the way back and pay my city tax in advance so I wouldn't have to worry on the day of checkout (we had a very early checkout). The room was very clean and comfortable. The mini-fridge came stocked with various drinks and snacks all complimentary. House keeping was unobtrusive and did a great job. They even noticed we drank more coffee then the standard they provided and on day two started giving us more. Other reviews discuss the small size of the room and while the room was not the typical American size - it was perfect for our family. other reviews also discussed the lack of breakfast - first romans don't usually eat breakfast but there are amazing cafe's all round. Finding food at anytime is so easy. The location alone was amazing. Easy walk to everything! Literally all was in walking distance - collosseum, Vatican, Trevi fountain, Spanish steps - and at night we sat at our little balcony facing the beautiful Pantheon sipping wine and listening to the lovely music of street performers. In the piazza there are restaurants and street performs and many people. It was a lively and fun. However when we wanted quiet we shut our window and it was quiet. Since it is such a popular piazza expect some noise but not so much you cant over come it. Also we were nervous about the time of year (February) since it is winter in Italy but as an American from the North East it felt like spring. The temperature was about 60+ degrees F everyday so it was perfect. Even in the evening (8-9 pm) we sat at the outside tables at restaurants. We did so much walking but never got too hot because of the nice temperature. Since it was less crowded our tour guides were able to show us more, and spend more time. Overall it was an amazing trip! Staying at the Pantheon Royal suites allowed us to maximize our stay in a comfortable and relaxing way.
