"Beautiful place but need some renovation.."
Panviman's got a beautiful location and the friendliest staff you could imagine. We stayed in a pool villa with a beautiful view over the bay. We were very unlucky with the weather as it rained constantly for the last couple of days. Due to the weather being bad we were kind of climbing the walls of boredom.. Obviously the weather isn't the hotels fault and they did what they could to help us out.. But due to the weather being bad it also hit us that there was nothing to do at the resort.. no pool tables or any other indoor activity area to spend time in. So a tip to the hotel is to actually add this to the hotel facilities :) Due to the rain we also experienced that our pool villa got soaked and it actually rained straight into the bathroom, luckily that was the only room it actually rained into. So the roofs need to be re-done asap. Actually.. the bathrooms in the pool villas should all probably be renewed as they were quite dingy (smelt damp and I felt very uncomfortable spending any time in the bathroom, rain or sunshine, due to the smell and it being too damp). The room itself was beautiful but I didn't have a wardrobe or chest of drawers.. instead there was a wardrobe in the dingy bathroom that we didn't want to use. The hotel is lovely and I'm sure we would've enjoyed our visit more if it didn't rain so much. The paths around the hotel are dated and need to be updated but all in all it's a pretty hotel with lots of potential. The breakfast was super good and we loved it! The view from the breakfast area was amazing! The pool villas have the best location as they're at the begining of the resort with close access to the beach, the reception, the breakfast area and the village that's nearby. There's tuk-tuks driving around the resort that are useful for the people living further up so no matter where you're staying you'll be ok. The staff is amazing all over the hotel... They were all very very sweet! Due to the really bad weather we decided to leave the hotel one day early (5th of december) and the hotel staff were sooo sweet and helped us get on a ferry to Koh Samui. They really went out of their way to help us leave the island (roads where closed and ferries cancelled but as soon as the road was cleared they made sure we coud leave). Extra big thank you to the wonderful reception staff and especially the sweet woman who helped us all the way until we actually stepped on to the ferry.. she works at the reception and she was wonderful and even went down to the pier to help people out!! This woman will forever be our star! Thank you! :)
We stayed here for three nights, the room was beautiful and clean. Only two restaurants in this resort, one Thai one Italian. Breakfast was just okay, poor selection. Not enough waiters, slow service. Waiters don't speak English. Gym is very small, bike and treadmill were broken. Village is small not much to do. If the weather is bad, you stuck in your room.
"Very disappointing visit"
Having booked our stay at Panviman many months ago, it was the one hotel we had most looked forward to as its cost was more than the other three hotels we stayed in Thailand added together. On arrival to our pool room we were disappointed by the standards of the room with very dated furniture and our room looked on to a construction site and skip. We had to call to have our room cleaned and the toiletries provided were very disappointing for such a high rated hotel. The transportation arrangements for evening to Thong Sala were not often and the price was very expensive. My partner and I also became very unwell during our stay and had to receive medical care (from the most amazing nurse), this happened during the night of our final stay and in the morning staff were more concerned about getting the room back to clean for the next customers meaning we had to be transported with IV drips attached to another room in the resort. On arriving at this room we were surprised it was much more pleasantly decorated and spacious with a king bed which we didn't have in our pool room and this room was almost three times cheaper than the room we had for three nights. Finally, the staff in the resort had VERY little English which made all communication extremely difficult and the manager was extremely rude when her staff members had gave us false transport information. The the only positives for the resort is its spa where the service was excellent and the location as it sits on a beautiful beach with amazing views. We will not return to Panviman and certainly will not recommend to to others. Extremely over priced for the service you receive.
In every way thinkable this was overall a great experience for us. We strongly recommend this resort. The breakfast is fantastic and the food is top class. We will be back for sure. Rooms are +++++ Food +++++ Staff +++++(+)
"Excellent stay, made by the amazing staff and stunning location"
We stayed here for 6 nights over christmas with our 2 young children. Our arrival transfer was organised seamlessly. We were greeted warmly at teh resort and were offered a cool towel and welcome drink while we were checked in. After this we were taken to our room, and the view took our breath away. We had booked a pool villa and had asked for a sea view, and what a view we were given! The staff really helped make our stay fantastic and memorable. They were all so friendly and were absolutely brilliant with our children, often holding our baby whilst we ate our meals. Our eldest loved playing and chatting to the staff, and they seemed to genuinely enjoy this too. The quality of food was really excellent, and very reasonable for a 5 star hotel. Because of this we ate most of our meals at the hotel. the only this they could improve would be the in room dining menu; but i know this is something they are working on. The pool area is fantastic, again with a great view over the bay and ocean. The beach was beautiful also, and from there you could easily walk across to the large beach where there are other hotels, cafes and shops. We just loved our stay here, and would definitely go back. It is not the newest or most modern hotel admittedly, but it is unpretentious, in a beautiful setting, with great rooms and fantastic views, and you will be guaranteed a warm welcome from all the staff!
