"Little things, big disappointments"
When we arrived, we could not find our designated parking spot, when we asked for help from a guy in one of the golf carts, he also could not find the spot. We assume it was overlooked or just not available. Our meetings ran late and the market closed early so we needed to rely on the restaurants for food. The barefoot bar was cold outside and the inside looked more like a family cafeteria. The Tidal restaurant was OK, but the menu was exotic and few things appealed to us. We went to our room another night and wanted to order pizza, but there was no menu in the room, so we had to rely on our own iPad and the internet was very slow. When the pizza and beer was delivered, the beer was in cans and we were expecting bottles (no kids with us and we are responsible people). There was no way to view the back of your hair in the bathroom, we had to unplug a light to use a nightime breathing machine and to charge our phones, so were were left with only one small light in the bedroom. We were at a meeting that provided lunches, so we were not sure if the lunches were catered or not, but they were very good. There was a very long line for the bathrooms, since our meeting was in the Mission Bay Room and not at the conference center, and it was only the last day after lunch that we found out there were closer restrooms that we could have used-- right behind the stage. Obviously this information was not shared with the appropriate conference staff providing the meeting.
I would highly recommend this location it was peaceful and serene. Many locations near by. Staff is friendly and helpful. Spa and pools are beautiful. Best massage I have ever had. I will be back before this year is over!
I paid $588/night during a busy week in March 2017. Walked into the room with my wife and two small kids and was astonished by the dumpster that is was. Humidity at 100%, bugs, spiders in the shower, flies, and an army of mosquitoes. The room has not been updated for at least 40 years. The sink and bathtub overflowed. The walls were paper thin. They charges a daily "resort fee" and internet fee. As if $588 a night was not enough for this piece of garbage. I kow someone from the marketing department will try and respond with some sort of "oh, I'm so sorry BS". Don't waste a single dollar on this badly managed and horribly overpriced piece of crap. Take a look at some of the pictures. That should alone persuade you from staying away.
The resort grounds were beautiful and well kept. I felt the rooms needed to be updated. The shower was in need of handicap bars. A better idea would be to have shower stalls instead of tub showers. The television service was very poor.
"Disappointed. For the price of the rooms. I expected clean room."
Finding the Lobby for check in was difficult. Room smelled stale. The bathmat was dirty. live spider in the tub. The tub had stains from the bathmat. Liner to shower curtain was dirty and missing the magnet. The mattresses are hard as rock. Pillows were nice and soft at least. The flora and trees were lovely and the walk to beach was so close from our bungalow. That was the best part. The patio was fine and had a nice pond. The price of room was over the top for the reasons I stated above. We were too tired when we arrived we just dealt with all the issues. Staff was helpful. they gave us a ride in their tram. It's a pretty place, just confused by the signage.
