This is a very nice hotel, conveniently located across the street from the Bart station and a cable car start. There is also an indoor mall nearby and within easy walking distance to Union Square, China Town and even the Ferry Building (if you are ambitious!). There were a lot of homeless people around the Bart area, but unfortunatly you will have that in any big city. The staff was very friendly and the service was awesome. The rooms were clean and spacious for 2 of us, and we were lucky enough to have a great view of the city at night. Unfortunately there no cafe in the hotel, however they have a nice bar with some bar food, and a Thai restaurant that we didn't try, but was vey busy both nights we were there.
Love that there is shopping near buy, we walked everywhere from the hotel, Union Square, The Ferry Building and down to the piers. We also walked to North Beach and UP,UP, UP. Lombard at the bottom of Columbus, Through China Town. The advise as far as our safe routes to walk, was spot on.
"Expected better service from the staff"
I am a hilton honors member and used my points for my stay. With that said, I contacted the hotel weeks in advance to check on the ability to ship packages to the hotel and if there would be any charges for this service. The hotel informed me at that time that the service was offered and it was free. I called one last time a few days before checking-in and was given the same information. To my surprise, the day of check-in, I was told to walk to a local fed-ex office where the package was delivered and it was there waiting for me, and that there was a $10 fee for this service. I don't mind paying $10 for the service, but I do mind the two times I contacted the hotel and given a different story. I am disappointed with the staff at the hotel and I do not plan on staying at the Parc 55 Hilton in the future. Which is too bad, because the hotel overall is great and is in a great location.
"Great stay but miss room service"
Had a great stay for a girlfriend getaway. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Everything was great. Just wish we could still order room service and pay per view movies. Other than that, we enjoyed everything.
Nice hotel. Close to BART and Cable car start . Adjacent to pretty dodgy area. "Sanctuary city" with lots of homeless and down and out folks. No problems but would not be there at night. Continental breakfast poor. Full breakfast very nice. Restaurant staff inconsistent. Some nice others not so much. Rooms spacious and clean.
