This was our first time to San Francisco and we were very impressed with everything about this hotel. From the ambience in the lobby and to the maintenance of the rooms, everything was up to par. The person who checked us in, Jonathan, is the best! He knows how to make guests feel welcome. Thank you! Next time we are in town we will be staying here.
"Baseball and Streetcars near Park Central"
I spent three nights at Park Central for a business conference held at the hotel. The hotel was totally professional - no problems. I would give it 5 stars, but they don't offer room service. They did have complimentary internet that worked fine. The bar and lounge were good. Room was good. I was thrilled that hotel was within walking distance of AT&T Park, and it was a straight shot down 3rd Street to the ballpark. I didn't count the blocks - but it's probably about a mile. You pass restaurants and liquor stores on the way if you want food or snacks before or during the game. My best experience was discovering how close the hotel was to both the Cable Cars and to the streetcar lines. I walked down Market Street to the cable car turnaround. But I had a greater and unexpected experience photographing (and riding) the vintage streetcars that San Francisco's Muni runs along Market Street down to Fisherman's Wharf. This is called the Market Street Railway or F Line. It was fun reading about the fleet on streetcar.org and I was able to take a car down to the streetcar museum at the Embarcadero, where I purchased a great field guide to all the cars. With that guide, or the website, you can identify the historic cars from their numbers. If you ride a car (for $2.25) it will also have the historic information. After walking the Embarcadero, I was able to catch a cable car back to the Market Street turnaround, which is only a few blocks from the hotel.
"Great property in great location"
Went for business and have been staying here for a while. You won't get personalized attention here, but you will get efficient, good service with a great property well kept. Conveniently located to everything in the city for what I need it is perfect and only 2 blocks from the Powell st BART.
"Good hotel for a buisness trip"
A fairly typical american hotel in a downtown location. Good proximity to Union Square and Embarcadero, close to the BART for airport access. Staff in reception were friendly and helpful when asked - although didn't offer information on check in (I was jet-laggedso I wasn't the clearest anyway). At check in my room was changed to a high floor with a great view of the bay. Comfortable and clean room, ipod docking on alarm clock. The only slight oddity was the position of electric sockets which were slightly inconvenient. Overall a good hotel in a handy location, with friendly staff.
