"a very good SF option"
We didn't know what to expect from the ownership change but i was pleasantly surprised. Staff is friendly and efficient, rooms are a very nice size, the hotel is not huge which is great. Well equipped gym, nice restaurant in the lobby with a very nice breakfast. Also the location is excellent - far, far better than the Union Square or the Wharf area. They also go out of their way to extend all benefits possible to SPG Plat members
"Quality Business Hotel - Heart of SF"
If you're going to be playing or working at Moscone this is the place for you. There are a few very well known names within a block of this hotel but they will easily cost you 30-50% more for weekday stays during a conference or event. The Park Central provides all of the necessary amenities aside from room service... but it's San Francisco; there are so many delivery companies that you would be wasting money by purchasing room service rather than ordering delivery from one of the fantastic local establishments. Rooms are very comfortable and generally have a good view of the rest of downtown San Francisco. The bathrooms are functional and have a high quality shower-head (overhead rain and directed stream). The only concern I have is with the rooms and the technology layout. The TV faces the back half of the room and does not swivel; I don't watch much if any TV but if I'm stuck working on my laptop for a period of time I do like to have sports in the background... not much of an option here. There is also a shortage of electrical outlets at the bed side. Service was top-notch; the team is very attentive and they offer the services you would expect from this caliber establishment.
"Fantastic and right in the middle of everything"
We stayed here while I was attending Google I/O. What can I say a fantastic stay was provided. Everything was great and the rooms and surroundings was too pretty. I give this hotel two thumbs all the way up.
"Beware The Hidden Facility Fee!"
The hotel is nice enough and still feels like a Westin even though it has changed names. It’s still part of the SPG Family and the hotel is centrally located and near a BART/MUNI stop and feels very comfortable. However, unlike other SPG (Starwood) branded hotels that charge an add-on facility or “resort fee” and display that upfront on the main page of the hotel and throughout the booking process, this hotel sneaks it in on the last page of the booking confirmation listed among the required city/state/local taxes and fees even though the $25 per day “Facility Fee” goes directly to the hotel and is NOT a required tax item. I don’t scrutinize the required taxes and fees in the confirmation because I figured they are all taxes and are applied equally by any hotel I would stay at that weekend. Until now, an SPG hotel hasn’t tried to slide in additional fees either. For a hotel that has barely any amenities to begin with I asked - What does that facility fee cover' According to the hotel, the facility fee is for the following: in-room high speed internet, newspapers, Starbucks coffee both in our restaurant and guestrooms, unlimited local and 1-800 calls, in-room bottled water, luggage storage, fitness center access, and discounts for various activities as given by the concierge. I thought internet was free for anyone who booked on the SPG.com website or through the app' (It is according to their website). As a platinum member I receive the rest of the items for free at all times because of my status BUT at this particular I have to pay an extra $25 PER DAY for that privilege' Park Central – Either list the $25 per day fee on your website in several locations IN ADDITION to slipping it in at the booking confirmation stage or just add it into the nightly room rate so everyone can compare the real cost of staying at this hotel along with the others in the area when deciding how much to spend and where to stay when in town. Plain and simple – I consider this is a very deceptive practice!
The room was fabulous 27th floor with a view of the city, the building is clean and well maintained, the rooms are relatively roomy, quiet, the wifi is excellent, and the staff are professional. The location is also great, The consierge were very helpful and we were able to catch the sightseeing hop on hop off bus from outside the hotel door.
