"Weekend away in Amsterdam"
We chose a secret hotel in Amsterdam off lastminute.com. Location is great. Hotel welcome is very good and staff attentive. Moms Restaurant is a pull for expensive fashionable Japan fusion food and bar although we didn't try this time. Corridors pretty narrow and rooms were OK. surprised there were no drawers for clothes or place to put suitcase down. Would have expected this if indeed this is 4*. I would stay again.
"Huge Hotel with great breakfast"
I found the Park Hotel of Amsterdam quite good and comfortable for my frequent business trips in the Dutch Capital. The breakfast, hosted in the very famous MOMA restaurant, is rich in terms of quantity and quality. The staff is generally very polite and professional even if the rooms are not very big (depending on the lottery/faith at the check-in when they decide where you will sleep). However the beds are extremely comfortable and they provide you with several toilette gadgets to make your stay more pleasant.
"great location for museum quarter and canals"
Great location next to the museum quarter and just next door to Rijks Musuem. Used it as a base for two nights to explore Amsterdam, slightly out from the crowded centre so ideal to get away for the evening after exploring
We came back to Park Hotel again after an amazing trip at the beginning of the year. The location is an ideal for any travellers! We stayed in one of the suite on the 5th floor. The room was very clean and comfortable, although not very spacious for the price we paid. I have to say that the staffs here are very helpful especially the particular lady we got to know, Bell. she brought our son a teddy bear and coloring kit everyday. She recommended very nice restaurants, bars and what to visit. We came back to our room one day but it hasn't been cleaned since we accidentally left the don't disturb light on. When Bell passed by she immediately helped the maid clean our room until everything was done. The maid hugged her and smiled. I saw a beautiful relationship between manager and workers which should be shown as an example to any workplace. She helped us with our luggages down to the check out and hugged us goodbye. This impressed us so much that we would like to let the manager know how special this person is. Thank you very much for taken all your time to make our trip so pleasant and memorable. We wish you all the best in your career.
"Not a 4 star hotel; beds uncomfortable tiny and tired rooms, patronising staff!"
Just back from 4 nights of misery at Park Hotel Amsterdam; staff friendly enough at initial reception but things deteriorated from there. 'Upgraded' to a 'bigger' twin bedded room for 40 euros a night at check-in; thought room would be nice but tired, unclean and other off-putting things like chips in bath enamel, paintwork and furniture damaged but worst of all the uncomfortable beds really disappointed us. Beds actually had three mattresses on them; one basic cheap sponge one and two topped up above this, which were all held together with elastic straps. Not easy to sleep on as so high and slippery as this pile of materials kept moving around when we moved! Complained to reception; but nothing was done at all, so complained again thinking they would change beds but only offer of help from patronising receptionist was a wooden board that got inserted under lowest mattress on one of beds. 'lots of people ask for this' said the helpful handyman. unfortunately it made little difference to the underlying problem of cheap and nasty beds topped up with other things to try and make them better. Overall a really bad experience and hotel didn't seem to care which made it worse. We couldn't wait to get away from this hotel which was really disappointing given how much we paid. I can't understand why people would give this place 5 stars, We have stayed in nicer hotels at a quarter of the price and managed to get a good night's sleep. Only redeeming quality was that it was in a good location for museums. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
