"Beautiful luxury hotel is an enchanting city"
Hamburg was one of the last legs on my Germany trip with my parents. This hotel was such a nice surprise. I knew the Park Hyatts were very luxurious, but this one was just exquisite. The look and feel of this hotel is very spa like. It's quiet, serene, and has muted tones to make you feel relaxed. The check-in process was smooth. Our front desk staff showed us our rooms and pointed out features. My room was beautiful, with a step-up desk area. The rooms are beautiful, and have heated floors! That was a nice surprise. We stayed in four different Hyatts on the trip (Mainz, Cologne, Berlin, and Hamburg), and this one was the best! The breakfast (not cheap at $35/person) is delicious, and the restaurant is superb. The concierge recommended and then made a reservation for dinner for us at a local German restaurant. They were very friendly! I wish I had more time to just explore the city and relax in the hotel, but we were only there for two nights. It's a great hotel!! Worth the money.
"Quiet Art Deco Style elegance"
I was the bag carrier for my wife's business trip and had researched Hamburg on the internet and was preparing to be disappointed. The hotel entrance is in a rather dark back street. On arrival - a 25-30 Euro taxi ride from the airport - entering the hotel things began to look up. Check-in was quick and the elegance and quietness of the Park Hyatt became apparent. Our room was on the third floor at the end of the corridor, overlooking the elegant arcade at the back of the hotel and was small but perfectly appointed with wood panelling and two doors into the bathroom/dressing area. After dropping our luggage we checked out the bar and had a bite to eat. The bar is trendy, with great service. It was late so we all had Curry Wurst and beer! Next day my wife went off to work (shame) and I had nothing better to do than have a swim (you could spend all day in the spa - when I went it was very quiet - just what I needed) and then explore the city. Having never been to Hamburg before I asked the concierge Simon, who could not have been more helpful, to advise me what to see in the city. He even sorted out reservations at Carls an der Elbphilharmonie, which was fully-booked on the web. Carls is a bit like posh Cafe Rouge from the UK, but a superb location with good food and service. Go and have a drink in the Westin above the Elbphilharmonie before hand - it's a great view. Overall Hamburg was a great city to visit. We would definitely return to the Park Hyatt. The only downside is that breakfast is ridiculously expensive - in the same block or in the main shopping street next to the hotel there are bakeries where you can grab something at a more affordable price. Also some fresh milk in the room, as well as coffee creamer would be nice - but the continentals just don't get tea! On Saturday night we walked - about 30/40 minutes stroll to Carls and saw the old warehouses and the Elbphilharmonie close up. On the way, we noticed several bars/restaurants on boats but didn't stop. Hamburg is worth a visit and staying at the centrally located Park Hyatt is a must and for exploring the city you can walk or take the U-Bahn which is in the main shopping street if you leave the hotel via the shopping arcade entrance. The Park Hyatt is a great place to stay. if we return to Hamburg, we wouldn't look anywhere else.
"Comfortable hotel in an outstanding location"
Our party's experience at this hotel was tops in several respects: comfortable rooms, quality food, well-trained staff, and an admirable location. So, easily this hotel rates five stars in this review. We arrived after a long flight very early in the morning for a four-day stay. We were greeted warmly by Tim at reception who quickly noted our circumstance and arranged for an upgrade to the apartment level. As members of Hyatt's loyalty program we had access to the club lounge which offered quality food items throughout the day. The attendants in the lounge--Stine, Marie, Laura, and Lena--were efficient, trained, friendly and kept the room orderly at all times. The apartment was spacious, comfortable, and super clean--what one would expect at a quality Hyatt hotel. The hotel has 8 floors for guests and while the hotel was quite full, there was very little noise. The hotel is located on a shopping street, and all the major department stores are nearby within walking distance. Our stay in December found us within a couple of blocks of Hamburg's Kriskindlmarkts. The hotel also has several small shops at entrance level which were visited on a particularly cold day. There is an outstanding fitness facility on property, with exercise equipment, sauna rooms, jacuzzi type pool, and a large pool for swimming. Annika and Janine were faithful attendants at the center, keeping all aspects in order. The reception area is on the second floor, but the concierge desk is at ground level, which our party found helpful. Christian and Simon were eager to be helpful and were patient in answering our questions. Peers the doorman/bellman was similarly friendly. During our four-day stay, we met the general manager, Tashi Takang, in the reception area, in the club lounge, throughout, which means he constantly is checking on the quality of service. So, while this is an established hotel, not full of glitz and chrome, nevertheless it is the kind of hotel our party loves. It is quality. We will return on our next trip to Hamburg.
"Only place I stay in Hamburg"
OK, the title might be a little misleading as I've only been to Hamburg 3 times, and each time I've stayed at the Park Hyatt as that's where my company puts me. And thankfully, that's where they put me as it is one of my favorite places I've stayed throughout all of my travels. The rooms are spacious, luxurious and well appointed. The heated bathroom tile floor is just that added attention to detail that you really appreciate. The staff is very friendly and helpful and everyone that I encountered spoke excellent English which I'm always humbled and grateful for as my German is almost nonexistent save for the standard "hello, goodbye, please and thank you". The breakfast here is one not to miss. With a large selection and variety of items, there's something for everyone. And living here in the US, it's the best tasting baguette I've had outside of France (yes, it's that good!). If you're going to be in Hamburg and you want to treat yourself to a place where service and quality is second to none, look no further than the Park Hyatt.
"Traveling for business, one day to see Hamburg"
Traveling for business, and we had one day to see Hamburg. This hotel is right in the heart of the shopping district and is an easy walk to town hall, the fish market and lots of other interesting attractions. The room had a great bathroom with nice tube/shower combo, mineral water and a selection of teas (honey for sweetener was a bonus). Room was very clean and staff were very helpful - most everyone of the staff we encountered spoke at least a little English.
