"Not the best for the price we paid!"
We came to Manchester a few weeks ago for a few drinks, a meal and over night stay. We chose Park Inn as it looked lovely on the photos and access to the spa facilities were included. The room looked nothing like the pictures and smelt of sweat, the room was red hot all night and would only turn down to 16 degrees - we rang reception and they were useless! So we had to try sleep in a sauna as we couldn't open the window! The spa facilities were filthy, like they'd not been cleaned for weeks! And the shower in the room was loose from the wall. Overall poor quality for the overpaid price we paid! Would not recommend.
"Location good but parking a pain "
Several reasons why this hotel is good location. It's basically just walk into city centre for business or pleasure. The Printworks and other areas with loads of restaurants only a 5 min walk away, and the Manchester Arena right across the road, so plenty of pubs, clubs, eats and shops close by. The hotel itself does lack a but of atmosphere as the bar area isn't set out very well, one screen hidden away. Breakfast was ok, usually buffet fair nothing special. Room was well equipped but don't know about the lighting around the bed, but if a gimmick to be fair. Shower room very basic. Reception and all staff very friendly, we have left a watch and they said they would send firm through but haven't yet, will need to remind them. Parking isn't simple, and they won't sort that. The instructions about this could be a lot clearer on the website.
"not a 4 star star hotel"
I stayed here last week with my wife we chose this hotel because it is supposed to be 4 star and it was near the city centre. the toilet/ shower room was tiny and had the feel of a budget hotel rather than a 4 star hotel. the room itself again could have been a lot better. for a 4 star hotel you expect a wardrobe for your clothes and not just a hanger rail to the side of the room. I asked the hotel beforehand that I will be there for a couple of nights for my wife's birthday and asked them if they sort out something out to make the stay nice for her, to which they said they will. but then when I got to the hotel nothing was done. if you had your curtain open the people from the opposite building (which is a few steps away) could see straight through into your room. Staff were really friendly and helpful which is the only reason why I am giving this hotel an average rating otherwise it would have been poor rating.
I stayed here for 2 nights requested early check in and they accommodated. Check in was quick and straight forward. Rooms are modern, beds are very comfy and the black out curtains were perfect. The shower in my room wasn't great but manageable. Good location for pubs and restaurants. We went over for match at Old Trafford. Use uber much cheaper taxis less than £10 from hotel to old trafford. Breakfast was fresh plenty of options.
"Spa, comfortable, great location and service"
Fantastic hotel! Friendly and helpful staff, less than 10 minutes walk to nightlife yet good for a peaceful night's rest and Victoria train station is 8 minutes walk. The reception staff were wonderful, helping with my booking requests which went as smooth as silk and they always had a cheerful demeanour regardless of how busy they were. Facilities available to guests at no extra cost are access to the sauna, steam room, indoor heated pool and a gym! There is a spa too which has reasonable rates. Breakfast was included during my stay, including a buffet English breakfast, cold selection, cereals, juice and coffee. There is a restaurant and a bar together which offer a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. The food is fresh and the catering staff friendly and helpful. Adjoining the bar area there is an outside patio with umbrellas and overlooking a peaceful green area, perfect for relaxing. I found my room comfortable, spacious, well furnished and the cleanliness was maintained throughout my stay. A kettle, coffee, iron and board as well as a safe are available in the room at no extra cost. The laundry service is efficient and a good job was done each time I made use of it. Oh yes, there is construction taking place nearby and please do not worry, because my room overlooked the site and I hardly heard them in the morning and weekends. I believe there may be some arrangement so as to minimise disturbance to the guests. I would highly recommend the Park Inn and as the prices vary widely from day to day and sometimes during the day too, keep checking and book in advance.
