Park Inn is well situated to many Manchester attractions. Victoria station is 5 minutes away and gives easy access to the tram network allowing us to travel to other parts of the city. We enjoyed our breakfast and the staff were always helpful and courteous. The pool was good and relaxing and clearly well maintained. My only issue would be that in our room there was a little black mould in the sink underside. However this was not a big issue for me and am confident the team there will pick this up and address. Looking forward to returning here in the future
"Birthday weekend RUINED"
Hotel itself is nice our room was lovely......put very very overpriced. NATHAN SMITH hotel manager on the evening of Saturday 22nd Oct.....was the most arrogant, obnoxious, ignorant, rude, unprofessional man I have ever met in a hotel & completely ruined my much anticipated birthday weekend away. I will NEVER step foot in that hotel ever again. Having attended a concert @ MEN...we went back to the hotel bar for a drink & to meet up with my nephew & his wife who I haven't seen for 3 months to celebrate my birthday ( they both live in Manchester).....they arrived at the hotel & asked where the bar was as they were meeting us....to be asked what OUR room number was as they didn't know my nephew rang me whilst stood at the reception desk....I answered the phone & could see him at reception so walked towards him....then the manager decided to ask them to leave as they weren't residents!!!!!!! He said my nephew & wife were rude & wasn't going to argue & if I didn't shut up he would throw me out too.....I have stayed in hotels all over the world & never ever been spoken to in the way he did.....His behaviour was extremely unprofessional, embarrassing rude, arrogant the most obnoxious man I have ever met. This experience completely tainted our stay & would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone....because of him.
"Excellent centrally located hotel "
Stayed here for business on a number of occasions and it's a very well ran hotel. Pros Quick check in and professional front of house. Check out also rapid and smooth Excellent pool and steam/sauna. Plenty of loungers Well maintained rooms and clean bathrooms Excellent bar and restaurant facilities, decent menu and wide range of options across sit down meals and bar snacks Perfect location to arena and Central Manchester Cons It's not the cheapest but reflection of Manchester's growth Safe in room didn't work as no batteries Changing rooms are basic and could benefit from a refurb
I walked to the hotel from Manchester Piccadilly using its postcode with Maps on my phone and ended up at the dingy back entrance. The location may be city centre but it wasn't an impressive start. The receptionist was friendly but struggling with a slow system. The lift was quite scruffy. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed, good shower and good-sized bath sheets. There was a cheap soap/shampoo dispenser thing in the bathroom and shower which I don't like too much. Tea & coffee provision was basic. Good location but nothing to rave about..
"Average hotel but parking a problem "
Arrived around 3pm to find the car park overflowing so I pulled up and went to receptionist and asked if they had another car park but unfortunately they hadn't. I was told that one of the function rooms was in use and most of the cars will be gone by 5pm. I had to use pay and display until then so didn't have the best of starts to my stay. After checking in I went to my room and for what I paid, I would say it's average no wardrobe just a rail attached to the wall to put your clothes. Room was facing the very busy dual carriageway but have to admit between 1-6 through the night was quiet but other times it's horrendous so don't plan on an early night or a lie in. Bed was very big and room was warm enough with the option of air con or heater. TV worked ok but no signal for ITV. For £139 a night I'm sure I could find a better hotel in Peterborough but was very clean. £4.80 a pint seemed a little steep as well.
