"Not a particularly comfortable bed. "
This is a 2 building hotel. We checked in to the main reception area late on a Monday night which was very nicely decorated and we were greeted warmly by staff. However, we weren't expecting to be taken over the road to a different building. Nevertheless, a porter helped us carry our bags - thank goodness, as we were on the top floor and there is no lift. We climbed about 6 flights of stairs to reach the 3rd floor. We had booked a deluxe room which was small and hot even though the air con was set at 18 degrees so we chose to open the window instead. There is a good sized wardrobe and a safe, tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge. The bathroom was bijou but clean, tidy and modern and the toiletries were provided. Unfortunately the bed was not the best. The sheets were not fitted and so came off the mattress through the night, which was uncomfortable, and the pillows were filled with lumpy foam - also uncomfortable. Well located but for the price there are better, more comfortable hotels which were full. Hence this booking.
I have stayed at this hotel while doing courses at nearby LBS. Good distance to walk, lots of things around and not too far away from the action. Hotel is clean, bar is reasonable, breakfast is good and the rooms are tidy. Not a 5 star but for the price, location etc... I would say a decent option.
"One size fits all attitude by hotel staff"
The hotel is situated in a central location which makes it easier to move around and also presents you with good food options on the street. The only downside is the staff assumes that all every guest requirement it the same without giving you an ear or trying to understand your needs. Guest relations officer is for namesake ☹️

"Birthday weekend in London"
Although I was born & brought up in London and live in the Home Counties we chose to spend the weekend in London as part of my 50th birthday celebrations. The Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes Hotel was ideally located for us to walk (or a short tube journey) to the parks (incredible in Spring!) the theatre, cinema and spend time with friends eating and drinking in Covent Garden and Primrose Hill. But my enduring memory of our stay will be the extremely friendly and helpful staff. Finally we have found a hotel which employs staff who are courteous and smile! An added surprise was a delicious cake and beautiful card in our room when we arrived. Thank you so much for a memorable stay.
