"Lovely location - nice hotel"
I stayed at that park plaza for a weekend break with my partner in January 2017 The location of the hotel is fantastic as it's literally a stones throw from the main train station in Amsterdam The entrance to the hotel is very nice with very pleasant staff - I booked via booking.com and be wary that the hotel took my full payment a week before I arrived without letting me know, not an issue but worth a thought, also they request a €50 security deposit when you arrive The room was nice enough, a little dated but suited the style of the hotel, tv with internet service and a mini bar - stay well clear of the mini bar !!!!! Major prices On the first night we did hear our next door neighbours having sex extremely loud but tbh the walls must be paper thin as we could also here people coughing etc etc - some people would find this a negative but it's hardly the hotels fault that someone got fruity In the evening they had a wonderful pianist playing whilst we enjoyed a few drinks before venturing out We visited Madam tussauds, Ripleys believe it or not, and a few local attractions - food and drink are reasonable priced and get more expensive the closer you get to Dam square This was the first time I have been to Amsterdam with a girl, I have previously visited 3 times, my girlfriend didn't really enjoy the tee light district but it's definitely a must just to experience it !! There are plenty of cafes to drink and only a handful to smoke in now ;) if that makes sense but all in all I had a great trip and would recommend this hotel
getting right off the train from the airport and park plaza is staring you in the face. this hotel is the perfect location, we walked everywhere! red light district is only 5 mins away with places like Anne franks and Heineken about a 30 minute walk, if you don't want to walk that the tram is on your door step to these places as well. The concierge at the hotel was brilliant told us different places to eat and go out. The rooms are slightly dated but clean and the bed was comfortable and when your out sightseeing and drinking at night the room wasn't an issue at all. MUST go to 'supperclub' it is amazing make sure you book before you go and have a night there, also the grasshopper bar is a really good bar a night!
First night unable to sleep due to noise from air ducts night manager unhelpfull told to use ear plugs day manager and maintenance very help full found faulty air vent moved to other room other side of hotel my son had to stay in his room that was next to mine spent hole of next day in bad as no sleep previous night so son had to go around hotel and Amsterdam on his own
Very bad customer service! Felt belittled and unworthy as soon as we arrived, hotel was dated and no basic's amenities such as slippers and gowns were provided . The complimentary shampoo was half empty and there were hairs all in the shower cubicle. We felt the staff to be unwilling to help and rude. We decided to leave after just 1 night of 3 night stay and moved across the square to a much more accommodating hotel. Waste of time and money.
"Loved every moment"
Loved every moment of our stay in this hotel! We got a free upgrade and the room was very spacous and clean. The view of centraal station was just amazing from our window. We will definately being returning! Staff were very helpful and friendly!
