"Little gem in Amsterdam"
Great hotel located in a great charming and quiet area in Amsterdam. There are cute little boutiques and restaurants nearby as well at the lovely Vondel Park. The #2 tram runs often. The room was a decent size, beds were comfortable and the bathroom was small but big enough for guest to be comfortable.
"Perfect place to stay but a tad too far"
I stayed here recently with my boyfriend and our friends and I couldn't fault it. Very clean, very scenic views of the park, very pleasant stay and lovely and quiet! Ideal if you're not wanting to stay near all the bars and restaurants and away from noise but for me walking the length of the park (although a very picturesque walk...) multiple times everyday did tire me out a little so probably would have preferred to stay closer to the centre. All in all a beautiful hotel though would recommend!
"Stinky, Old and Used Up"
I travel to Amsterdam frequently for my business and have stayed in a number of its 4 & 5 star hotels. This hotel has to be described as the worst of which. I checked in on 13.5.2015. As I came from America, I had three very large suite cases, nobody offered help with them. I was given room on the 6th floor with a broken door, a carpet full of stains and unbearable stinks, as if a dog urinated there. After an hour I demonstrated and was moved to a room on the same floor which was similar in quality, without the stinks although it didn't smell fresh at all. The bed is old and uncomfortable and also smells, when you put your head on the pillow. The breakfast was good for a 4* as well as the bar and its different tenders. Other than that that hotel can be a maximum of 2* and certainly a scam that I wouldn't recommend.
I booked a room for 2 single beds and accidentally hit the booking button twice. Noticed 2 rooms had been booked instead so email the booking online company who said they could do nothing. When we checked in we were told we could get a refund for one room. Otherwise we would have had a room each a friend and myself. The other room was classed as a 'no show' so we were not refunded. The reception man at 3am when we checked in ordered us 2 pizzas for 38 euros which should have cost 28 euros. He was then handed his smaller pizza when ours arrived. The staff lied and basically stole from us in broad daylight and refused our refund on the room. We were also booked into a double bed even though we asked for 2 singles. The first room smelled of sewarge from the blocked drains. The hotel pictures of rooms are no accurate its more like a hostel I would advise against staying here.
"Needs some work"
Researching Vondelpark and the surrounding area, I came across this hotel. It is in a quiet area of Amsterdam and about a 5 minute to the nearest tram stop and not too far from the park itself. The room was surprisingly bigger than I thought. When we first got to the hotel, we noticed a number of problems with the room we had originally been put it and the hotel staff were kind enough to switch us to another room. The room turned out to be bigger and spacious. My one complaint is with the bathrooms. They are very open, are separated by glass and the door doesn't close properly which doesn't provide much privacy.
