"Park Plaza Wallstreet"
Me and my girlfriend went to Berlin for a long weekend (4-8 January 2017). We decided to stay at the Park Plaza Hotel on Wallstraße. We arrived at approximately 1:30 in the night so we kind of expected a grumpy lifeless employee at the check-in (due to past experiences with late check-ins). This guy Aaron on the reception was actually extremely helpful for that time of day. (First impression definitely counts!!) He gave us some cool "insider" tips where to go to in Berlin. We followed up on some of them and I can only say that we were not disappointed! We were tired after a 6 hour drive, so we were happy the check in happened fast and without any problems. When we arrived in our room we immediately noticed that they definitely take care of their rooms. They cleaned our room each morning and when we got back from the city it was like the day we arrived, clean and tidy. The location of the hotel is also great, only 2 stops from Alexanderplatz. Plus there´s a busstop around the corner and a metro station across the street (U Märkisches Museum). Overall the stay at the hotel was a good experience. The staff was very kind and the room was well maintained. Me and my girl are usually pretty critical on our stay at hotels, but we can recommend this place without any hesitation. Enjoy your stay! Greets, Timo
"Great hotel for exploring the City"
Stayed here over the christmas season, hotel is great location, it's a couple of minutes walk from Alexander Platz which has the TV Tower, good bars/restaurants and lovely views of the river and Berliner Dom (which is not even a 10 minute walk away) We chose the hotel due to location, the other main sites (Eastside Gallery, Reichstag and Brandenburg Gate) are all a short cab ride away and the subway station is at the end of the street. Our room was very nice and clean, it was small but that was expected. The bathroom was lovely, very modern and has a good hairdryer, I usually take mine with me as I have long hair, but this one was very good quality for a hotel. The staff were all absolutely lovely, I cannot fault their service, they even prepared food for us at 11pm when the kitchen had closed one night. We also got an early check in, but I did email in advance to ask for this as we arrive at 9am and check in is at 2pm. The food at the hotel is very good, recommend the Currywurst and the bar do some very nice cocktails - beware the long island ice tea, its very strong haha. I did think that the breakfast was overpriced for what it was, standard style buffet and not as good quality as their lunch/dinners, I think it was around 15 euro per person and we only got it once, but I'm not a big breakfast person so make your own mind up on that. It's also worth noting that we arrived on the day the idiot drove a lorry into one of Berlin's Christmas Markets, so the mood was very somber, the staff at the hotel were brilliant, making sure everyone was calm and stayed inside, they didn't panic even though they were obviously worried about what was happening.
"Great affordable well located Hotel"
We chose this hotel based on previous reviews. Since we would be depending on public transportation and did not want neither a hostel or a luxury hotel, I believe we got exactly what we needed. Room was big and so was the bathroom. The theme is not appealing as one would hope but at least it gives the room a more modern look. Would certainly recommend it and book it again. The subway was only a few walking minutes away.
I took my boyfriend here as a surprise for his 21st birthday. We travelled in JUNE 2015. Upon arrival we were pleased with the elegant look of the hotel, albeit quite a businessy hotel we had a very pleasant stay. We were shown to our room which was a few floors up and used a glass elevator to get to and from each day. I am usually not keen on lifts but this one was a bit of a novelty. The room itself was lovey, it was spacious and bright and exceptionally clean. The theme of 'wall street' that runs throughout the hotel is tastefully done and their were inspiring quotes behind our bed, as well as a large dollar bill rug across the floor. The room had large windows and white curtains that gave it a bright and crisp feel. However there were excellent black out curtains for when we wanted a lie in! Wardrobe and drawer space was good and there were charging points either side of the bed which was perfect as I always find people fight over charging points on holiday - all trying to charge there phones haha! There was also a TV in the room which was a nice touch. The en suite was perfect, it was very large in size and had a bath with an attached shower, a toilet, sink and large mirror. The only downside was there was no mirror in the room - however this caused few issues. The staff were friendly and the room was cleaned daily - fresh towels provided and beds made. The reception staff were extremely helpful with giving us directions, providing maps and even recommending restaurants, bars, clubs and attractions to go to. They also frequently ordered taxis for us. We did not eat any food from the restaurant as this was very pricey, however there was a mini-fridge in the room that provided beveredges and snacks for a small amount. Location was excellent. In the Mitte district we were close to a supermarket (which reception provided direction to) as well as many local attractions. There were also excellent tube, bus and tram facilities and we were never waiting longer than minutes for transport. The hotel was quiet and we never had any disturbance from other guests. All in all it was a wonderful stay and i would recommend the hotel.
"Very nice hotel, in quite area"
Old but nice hotel. Staff are very friendly. The hotel misses some extra stuff, like a Spa or massage, so its not a hotel for that kind. There can also be very long from Elevator to the room, with a lot of doors to go through. Private parking is very good and its so close to center of Berlin
