"Perfect again, so hard to beat!"
I always use Tripadvisor for an over view of a property before I book and the trouble is I rarely feedback. When everything is perfect taking time to review gets put on the back burner and invariably doesn't happen. This hotel deserves a review, we have stayed here three times and are about to book for a fourth summer holiday. We have stayed twice for seven nights and this year for eight nights. The Beausite has an enviable position, it located in a slightly elevated position at the edge of the village (missing any passing noise beneath the windows) but close enough to be standing on the main street in the village centre less than five minutes after leaving the reception desk. We have considered other hotels in the village but at The Zermatterhof and Monta Rosa end of the village the church bells would be an issue (okay I'll say it.....really loud!) We also considered the Mont Cervin, although iconic, it is more enclosed by other buildings and unless you are prepared to pay for a top room category you don't get the fantastic Matterhorn view that is possible at the Beausite.(or the sun terrace.....more of that later) We did stay at the Schonegg one year (beside the Sunnegga Funicular) but the summer restaurant menu was very limited compared to what is offered at the Beausite. Right, I think that has covered the enviable position of this property, on with the review. We have stayed in two different room types, the Matterhorn double rooms in the main hotel and this year in the Alpine Chic Junior Suites located in the adjoining Chalet. Both room types have their own strengths. I would especially recommend choosing a Matterhorn view, it really is stunning to see an alpenglow on that iconic mountain. The rear of the hotel would look over the Gornergrat railway which isn't that exciting. All the rooms we have stayed in have been spotlessly clean. Matterhorn double rooms are higher up in the hotel and offer simply stunning views toward the Matterhorn and also right across the village. Standing on a fifth floor balcony we could see out towards the Gornergrat station and glimpse the trains starting their journey. Closer to the hotel we had a view of the cross roads near the river and could watch the "rush hour" with the battery powered service vehicles going about their business. And at night the view is really special with all the lights beneath you, I have stood and looked at that view for a long time.....lovely. Matterhorn Alpine Chic Junior Suite. These rooms are located in the Chalet that is connected to the hotel by a lower level that houses the pool and wellness area. The junior suites are beautifully appointed and we had two, one on the top floor and one beneath. The balcony feels more private than the main hotel as they are wooden and glass rather than the metal railings. The balcony doors open very wide to bring the view right into the room. It is still a fabulous view but from a lower level with the main hotel to the left at a 90 degree angle. You "only" see up the valley towards the Matterhorn without the view down the valley towards the Gornergrat (I'm very hung up on the view I know!) The sitting area was lovely and I could relax back on the sofa with my feet up and still enjoy the view without needing to sit on the balcony. The bathroom was located towards the rear of our suite, with small windows facing the railway. I closed the bathroom windows at night and we were not disturbed by any early morning train movement. The bathroom was well planned and had both a large walk in shower and good size bath with a separate toilet. The hotel staff without exception were extremely helpful and professional. The front desk staff organised a helicopter excursion for us and also a sunset dinner excursion offered by the Gornergrat. I had forgotten to book the Gornergrat trip myself and remembered when we were out enjoying a walk at Rifflesee. I rang and spoke to reception and although I was past the deadline for reservations they still managed to make a booking while we continued with our walk. The young lady on reception could not have been more helpful. The same applies to the restaurant staff, both for breakfast and dinner. We must especially mention Francesco who is such a central figure in the restaurant, he is so welcoming and friendly in numerous languages! I should perhaps say that breakfast here is exceptional with a very wide selection to suite the health conscious and the indulgent, there is also a chef to cook your eggs just the way you want, omelettes are perfect and you choose your fillings. Evening meals are included if booked through most UK tour operators, where half board seems to be standard. There are various special "nights" - the barbecue evening was excellent and very well organised with different meats and fish on offer, a real surprise. There was also a fondue evening and a gala dinner. We also ate from the a la carte menu twice during our stay this year (you have a credit from the standard menu) The choice is good and the food is beautifully cooked. After dinner you can enjoy coffee and a drink in the lounge or out on the terrace with the stars and the twinkling lights of the village. A lady working usually in the lounge and on the terrace (for at least the last two years) deserves a special mention, very remiss of me not to remember her name, a great personality and sense of humour, always remembers our drink preferences and room numbers! The hotel offers complimentary afternoon tea and cake on the sun terrace or in the lounge. The sun terrace has large patio sofas and sunshades and a scattering of tables (my only negative comment is that with all the space available on the terrace a few more tables would be a good idea) it is such a popular place to be at the end of the day. You cannot beat the view from that sun terrace. I must also give a mention to Emilio who is always on the move in the hotel electric "car" If you require collection at the station then it's Emilio who will be there to pick you up. If you travel from the UK and use the "fly baggage" system remember to give the baggage receipts to reception and Emilio will collect your cases from the station. Zermatt is such a unique destination, the lack of cars, a lively atmosphere in the main street both during the day and evening. Numerous restaurants of all types. And of course stunning scenery with easily accessible walking, suitable for super humans and mere mortals like me, who enjoys walking from one mountain restaurant to another! We have had reliably perfect holidays at the lovely Beausite and are looking forward to a repeat performance next summer. With many thanks to the staff and management for a job very well done.
We visited the hotel in July 2016 where we started our 10 day holiday in Switzerland to celebrate our 40th (Ruby) wedding anniversary. The views of the Matterhorn and surrounding area of Zermatt were breathtaking. We would like to thank you and all your staff for the excellent hospitality and lovely room we had. The staff were very polite, helpful and couldn't do enough to answer and help you with anything that you asked. Thank you for making our stay with you so special.
"The Best of Everything in One Hotel."
You can't beat this Hotel. From check in to check out a wonderful way to experience travel in Zermatt. Super views of the Matterhorn, located near town center, great spa and pool, superior breakfast, excellent restaurant for lunch or dinner, large rooms with comfy beds, excellent staff. Top quality all around.
"BEST hotel in Zermatt!!!"
We have stayed in Zermatt for our winter holiday the last 4 years - 2 with our 4 children and 2 with just my husband and myself. Of the 4 years - 3 were at the Hotel Park Beau Site (last year we had to stay at another hotel, due to Park Hotel Beau Site being booked). HANDS DOWN - the Hotel Park Beau Site is the very BEST!!!! From the food, rooms, spa, sauna, pool and most importantly the SERVICE - we are avid travelers, and cannot say enough GREAT things about this hotel! Alex would always welcome us with his melodic music from the piano bar, Ina and Pavlo were always eager to help us with our beverage choices, and engaging conversation. Francesco - the most AMAZING maitre'd! Always greeting us every morning with a big smile, and helping us with our wine selections every evening. We have stayed elsewhere, but no other place compares! Even when we were forced to stay elsewhere, we found ourselves, every night, returning to the Hotel Park Beau Site! We will not go back to Zermatt, if we cannot stay at our favorite hotel! We are truly looking forward to our January 2017 holiday at the Hotel Park Beau Site!!! Mr. and Mrs. Valeriano Southampton, NJ USA
"Honestly. Perfect in all categories!"
Beyond the staggering view of the Matterhorn from our astoundingly large patio, everything about this old-school hotel (with completely up-to-date fixtures and facilities) is brilliantly conceived and managed by the proud, well-trained staff. Our room was large with beautiful detail, the restaurants (breakfast and dinner) were wonderful and the food was excellent, and the outdoor area in front of this elevated hotel is a perfect spot to enjoy the Matterhorn while having afternoon tea or drinks. This is one of the best hotels we've experienced in a long time.
