"Nice but crowded and small"
We stayed in a 2 bed apartment at the peppers club in Feb 2017. The hotel is centrally located and has easy access to local bars and restaurants. The staff is very friendly they gave us a bottle of nice sparkling. The hotel also has a decent breakfast. However, the 2 bed room was quite small - the side table had to be moved to close the bathroom door. Without A.C. on the rooms were quite noisy. The living room area was tiny - a large six seater occupied 50% of the room and was unusable. The rooms didn't have the views as seen on Booking.com and felt quite cramped. Hotel has only one restaurant on site and is not good at all with very poor Italian fare. Overall quite good if you are on business or a short layover and want to experience the city night life.
Was most disappointed on my last visit. Service was bad, definitely no longer a 5star hotel. Noise on Long street is terrible and despite requesting for a change of room, it was never done. Rooms are not properly vacuumed and cleaned. Refuse to charge extras to the room and insist that extras must be settled immediately. Sadly Will definitely not return.
"Pepper Feb 17"
I have always enjoyed my stay at Pepper Club and found it to be good value for money. This time, however, the price was more than double the usual price and one does feel that the busy Parliamentary season, creates an opportunity for some exploitation. The Sinatra Restaurant also offers a limited and pricey menu.
Recently stayed here on a business trip. The location is definitely more suited to holiday stays. The endless noise from the clubs, pubs and restaurants make it very difficult to get a good night's sleep. My shower door couldn't close properly, so the entire bathroom floor got soaked every time. The lifts are confusing and not explained during check-in. I have had far better stays in numerous Cape Town hotels at a fraction of the price. My colleague was so rudely treated by Tarra (hostess) at breakfast that he actually walked out and left for the airport without even having a bite of his breakfast. This hotel will be right at the bottom of my list for future stays.
"Short break at Cape Town"
The pepper Club is a wonderful hotel. Its staff is welcoming, kind and very helpful in every sort of way you can imagine: they even managed to make my 10 year old son feel like a prince during our stay. The premises are flawless and the overall servisse is great. Highly recommended both for solo or family trips. We will surely be coming back.
