Located in the Sants-Montjuic district, between Calle Consell de Cent and Calle Béjar, the hotel is a few metres away from the underground station of Plaza España, in the oldest and most outstanding Fairs area of Barcelona. It is also one of the areas with the longest shopping tradition in the city, down the buzzing main street of calle Creu Coberta (the old “Carretera de Sants”).
Very well communicated with all city motorways, the hotel is just a few steps away from the main train and coach station of Barcelona-Sants.
"A good decision made"
I stayed at the Pestana Arena Barcelona for one night only on a business trip to Barcelona. The best the hotel has to offer is the hospitality of their employees. The hall to my room was extremely dark, the elevators did not work well and I ended up taking the stairs a couple of times but those are just minor details, what really broke my heart was to taste the "tortilla espanola" that was available as part of the breakfast buffet and feel it was as cold as the temperature outside of the hotel... overall a good decision made for one night stay in Barcelona and a good deal for what I paid to stay there.
"Barca weekend trip"
We went to Barcelona for a long weekend in mid-December and stayed at the Pestana Arena. It is a very nice hotel, good rooms, quiet and very well positioned. The hotel staff are alll very friendly and helpful, there is a good buffet breakfast and a nice lounge area to sit and relax. It is within a couple of minutes walk of the airport bus pickup/drop off point at Placa d'Espanya which makes for easy airport access and about 5 minutes walk from Sants train station. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Logistic is very good, few minutes from Plaza Espana where you can find both metro and taxi station, as well as a shopping center. Price (according to the price I got with Voyage Priveé) is excellent vs quality offered. The hotel is modern, recently renewed. Staff is ok. Only negative note is about acoustic absorbtion, which is weak in my opinion (both versus external noise and internal) and an incident with a fire alarm (I presume) which rang late during the night, quite annoying. Overall, a very good choice if you want to visit Barcelona.
"Comfortable well located medium priced hotel"
The hotel is very well located, being only a 5 minute walk from the Plaza de España and the metro station there, which will get you to any of the main sights within 20 minutes max. The room was quite nice as well, with a really comfortable bed and nicely decorated with sufficient space. In the area there are small groceries as well as restaurants and places to have a (cheaper) breakfast. The Aerobus to the airport is very conveniently located close to the hotel, and it's a very short drive. The area is quiet as well and the rooms are not noisy at all. All in all quite liked the place and would return a next time around...
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody at the hotel Pestana Arena for a superb stay. The Hotel was ideally situated for site seeing the many beautiful buildings of Barcelona We were given non biased advice on places to eat by the reception and also clear directions for the metro which was just around the corner Are room which was located on the top floor was lovely.. I would be more than happy to recommend this Hotel and hopefully return again in the future Thank you all again for a very warm welcomed relaxing holiday Bonjour!!!! X
