We stayed at this hotel in may and it was extremely quiet as i believe that is off-season, but that was fine for us. Hotel itself is beautiful, it maintains the style of a older colonial style house with aa excellent decoration and layout. We were welcomed to the hotel with by such lovely staff and a cold drink in the reception room. Check in took all of 10 minutes and by the time we got to the room our bags were already there! The room itself was great, finished to a very high standard and gave a true fee of luxury, ours looked out over the pool (i think most do) and the garden is truly serene. Due to having done a bit of travelling that day, we chilled out and napped, only getting up to sample the food that evening; menu was pretty standard to what we had seen so far, not to belittle the selection, and the quality was excellent. Breakfast the next day was much the same, excellent selection and speedy service for a la carte orders. We organised 2 day trips out of this hotel from the tourist assistant at the front desk, the first was a day driver who took us to the tiger kingdom and a nearby temple, then the second was a tripe to the white temple (well worth a visit). In all this hotel is entirely worthy of its 5* status.
Just had a wonderful 9 day holiday in Chiang Mai, at the Ping Nakara. The staff could not have been more helpful. Whether it was servicing the room, room service, Happy Hour, Breakfast, reception or the drivers. Room was very clean, and serviced in good time in the mornings. Room turned down at night. Complimentary mini bar (non alcohol) and snacks each day. Happy hour 5:30 to 7:00 daily for cocktails, two for the price of one. My wife needed 4 visits to the hospital, and we could not have asked for more help, and their genuine concern. We were dropped off by their car service and picked up when we telephoned after treatment. Wonderful service. Hotel is within easy walking distance to the night markets, Andasun night markets, tailors, restaurants etc. Next door is the Nakara Jardin French patisserie on the Ping river, a true delight for lunch or afternoon tea. We will be back! Highly recommended.
"wow - amazing colonial hotel"
If you are in Chiang Mai stay here for a fantastic colonial experience. The place is small but a little paradise in a big city. The whole concept is well thought trough and the room was just amazing. All clean, super service, amazing pool with a view in the green.
"A Memorable stay "
One of my outstanding memories of four week holiday. As soon as you arrive, the hotel seems special. The exterior is beautiful and the inside very special. It is a small hotel with 13'' bedrooms so a very personal feel with personal touches. We stayed for five nights. We did arrive by taxi but if a special occasion the vintage Mercedes did look amazing 😀 The bedroom was very spacious with every facility. The shower, bath tub, wash basin and loo are all separate so very easy. The bedding is luxurious. We did have a balcony and enjoyed it but the hotel sitting area and pool area is very quiet, easy and pleasant to enjoy. The pool area and seating outside is very pleasant and you can sit outside for breakfast. Many choices for breakfast. Location wise is great, we were able to walk easily to the markets and iron bridge area. We did take a tuk tuk to the old city and then used to walk back. The reception staff were brilliant and helped us book the green bus to Chiang Rai and even went to pay for us as we didn't know you had to pay within two hours of online booking. The tour desk was also really helpful and found us a vegetarian cookery class at the last minute. We did do a trekking tour with them too and enjoyed it very much. They do assume that Ping Nakara guests prefer a private tour (I assume more expensive option) , if you want a group tour then extremely helpful but refer you to another company. It was our first day and I booked without realising it was a private tour , I should have looked at hours trekking too rather than sightseeing but that was my fault. We had a great day. We did book an elephant day independently as didn't want to ride and we went with Elephant Jungle Sanctuary, it was a great day with pick up from hotel. The front desk helped us book even though it wasn't their tour. Only comment is the mosquitos ( hotel provides spray and mosquitos are all over Chiang Mai) and in November, the sun is not over the pool late afternoon. It is expensive but it was a memorable stay and we don't regret it.
"Perfect honeymoon hotel"
Quiet hotel with beautiful rooms and an amazing pool and impeccable service. The people that work there truly go above and beyond for every detail. Our room was amazing and I couldn't believe the way it looked exactly like the photos. It's an absolute treasure. Plus it's easy to walk almost anywhere right from the hotel!
