I arrived after taking a ten minute taxi ride from the train station. Straight up the stairs and to reception. The gentleman had my reservation ready and informed me I had been provided an upgrade which was very nice. Round the corner to the elevator and up to the third floor. The upgraded room was a view over the Arno River which was very nice, however the room and the bathroom were quite compact. It was actually the room size I had expected in Rome and was given a very large room with a huge bathroom in Rome and realized after I checked into this hotel I had been upgraded at my last hotel. With that said the room was clean and functional. There was a room safe (but it does not fit a small laptop computer which was somewhat disappointing). The bathroom had a number of amenities but only one soap that I kept switching between the basin and the shower during my stay. There was shampoo but no separate conditioner which was fine as I bring my own for such situations. The shower was hot and the water pressure was good. The shower design is compact and the door opens into the shower which reduces the size when trying to get out. The view was wonderful. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well. There is a fridge in the room and it contains a bottle of still and a bottle of sparkling water that is replaced each day. Curtains are good at blocking out the lights shining from outside when you are trying to sleep. The concierge was always very helpful. Breakfast was a nice assortment each day and again a wonderful view of the river and hillside. I had a drink in the bar one night and it was nice ambiance and hot tasty treats to go with the glass of Tuscan chianti. Loved the location of the hotel, just outside the main area but everything was within walking distance including the #13 bus to go up to the church overlooking the city, and the #12 return - highly recommend. The church is just up the road from the Michelangelo Plaza with the statue of David. Every single member staff member that I met was wonderful and everything is within walking distance of this hotel. For the price, cleanliness, bed comfort, safety and service of the staff would recommend this hotel for single women.
Need to make a reservation for the aperitivo on the rooftop to watch the view and most preferably the sunset...it's too beautiful! Also the food is great and so is the aperol spritz! Service could better but the area and music are great!
"Nice visit, nice hotel in great location."
This is a very nice hotel in a historic building with a perfect location for our family: away from the busiest areas, but just a short walk to key sites and good restaurants. We had two suites overlooking the river. The views were lovely with two-story windows. The suites were well-appointed with sleeping lofts and bathroom above the main floor (powder room on the floor below) and beautiful light. Unfortunately, we had a real challenge to moderate the temperature in the suite -- we burned up in the night, even after turning the temperature down and exactly following the directions provided by the front desk staff when we called to complain. It was just too hot. Other than that, the rooms were quite nice. Breakfast was plentiful, with excellent coffee and nice selection of foods. The wait staff at breakfast consistently helpful and friendly. We also enjoyed the lobby bar with its stunning glass chandelier and great drinks and snacks served by Lorenzo, who was consistently friendly, helpful, funny, and kind to our kids. Very nice stay and we would recommend to others... during months when you can open a window to let out the extra heat!
One of the best 1 week holidays I have ever had. Great service in this hotel, however what made it spectacular was going in the height of Summer to experience the roof top bar and pool. It is very rare to get a hotel with a pool that is city central so i was overly impressed. Throughout the day the waiters were attentive and polite and made a pretty good cocktail also! After a certain time there Apertivo starts and entertainment is provided on the roof - even if you go here just for that it is worth it. Our room was beautiful, bathroom was so clean and new. We stayed in a Deluxe room without a balcony but our French Windows made up for this giving us the most spectacular view of the River Arno every morning and evening. Perfect location to visit all in Florence and the concierge was also so helpful when booking excisions too. Breakfast was great, huge selection, though i cannot comment on the dinner restaurant as we never ate here. If i was to return to Florence I would most certainly stay here again!
"Awful customer experience"
We stayed at this hotel last August. While it looks decent and it is centrally located, we had huge issues when it came to the service they provided. We had a rented car and while they were not able to provide on site Parking as it was full, they said that they worked with a provider (chargeable, of course), and that we could leave it there. To make a long story short, our car was damaged by their partner and while we were trying to trace the culprit and get the Insurance, the hotel staff became careless. They kept leading us on, offering 0 help. They are very quick to charge you for anything, however when there is an issue, they are no where to be found. Stay away! There are many more options in Florence with, hopefully, much more decent staff!
