"Great for families"
The service here was fantastic. From check-in, housekeeping, to pool service, everyone was friendly and helpful. This is a great property for families. It could use a facelift, but the staff makes up for this.
"Baseball Tournament and Family Getaway"
We picked this place for all the features that it offered for a family. The water area with lazy river, water slide, large pools with volleyball net and basketball hoop, miniature golf, and cafe with bar for the adults. Didn't really get to enjoy to much of this since my son's baseball team played a lot of baseball and ending up winning the championship game for their division. My other children did however check it out and they liked it but they weren't overly thrilled. The funny thing is that they had more fun with the Coyote Camp that this resort offers for an additional fee but my kids did a lot for the four hours that we signed them up for. I have to extend a special thank you to the ladies running the Coyote Camp because my kids loved every minute they were there. My biggest complaint for this water area is that it closes way too early. The food and bar closes at around 6pm unless they are showing a movie and then it's open till 8pm but then again that is too early. It would have been nice to have spent more time there with my kids but because of the baseball games with my oldest son we missed out pretty much the whole 5 days with this water park area. Also they offer two types of casitas at the resort beside their regular hotel rooms. The one bedroom/loft and the two bedroom casita. Not to happy with the look of the one bedroom casita since it was outdated and old looking but it was a good amount of space for all of us. Furniture was old but the bed was pretty good and again I had enough space for my kids to spread out on their cots that we bring for them. Food at the water park area was good and the adult drinks were even better. The Resturant located on the premises to the left of the lobby was okay since the service was super slow. Overall this was good for my family since most of them enjoyed what was offered. Location was great and there was plenty to do around it. We would definitely stay here again when we return for another baseball tournament for my son. At least we now know the times things close and will plan out our time better. Thank you Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort for making my children so happy which is the most important thing for this family guy. You guys rocked!!
"A Bit Worn but Overall, Very Good Value."
At first glance, the property shows signs of wear; however, the level of service is very good and the fitness center is excellent. I have stayed at other Hilton Resorts where you had to pay a resort fee, such as here; however, this hotel's fitness center and benefit from pool complex makes it an excellent value. Also, the buffet breakfast, while expensive, offers a nice, fresh assortment of items: in my opinion, it is overall a good value. One thing that I did not like is the lack of lighting between the buildings and around the grounds after dark. I'm sure that this is to create a relaxing ambience; however, I would prefer that they brighten it up a bit. This hotel offers easy access to get in and out while being close to the major roadways.
"Kid friendly resort!"
Great pools, lots of things to tire out the little ones. The furniture was a little dated, but who cares when you're travelling with 3 generations, including 4-year-old twins. Good central location to all the Spring Training ballparks, easy freeway access.
"Awesome family resort"
The river ranch at the hotel is so great for families. I have a 5 & 7 year old and we were entertained all day from 10am until 4:30 at the pool. There's so much to do to mix it up and try. I love how the main pool is only 3 to 3.5 feet deep so my youngsters had tons of room to swim and play. We avoided the sports pool because it was mainly older kids and adults. Only true complaints - The bread was super dry for our sandwiches but I wasn't expecting anything amazing from a poolside cafe anyway. The bathrooms could have been maintained better. They were always sopping wet which always grosses me out. Rooms were spacious and all of them were suites. Love having all that extra space. I wish ice cream was served after 6pm from the gift shop ice cream parlor. Seemed silly to close it up so early.
