"Great service! Great pool! Old rooms!"
I'll sort of echo other reviews lately, the rooms in this resort are very outdated. The carpet was at least 10 years old in our casita room. Don't get me wrong, they are clean rooms with good bathrooms and facilities but the overall feel of the rooms was "dingy." With that said, the service was outstanding! From the initial check in and transport to our room to every interaction we had with hotel staff was amazing! Super nice! Super accommodating and friendly! The pool area was also great. This is a family friendly resort so if you don't have kids, be ready to be sharing the pool area with toddlers and teens. For a family, its great! Nice lazy river, big slide, lots and lots of pools. Also, we never had trouble finding a place to sit with a nice umbrella --maybe we were lucky. Restaurants and food is average. Nothing that would blow your mind, but nothing that would disappoint either. Overall we'd go here again but would be hesitant given the room conditions. We would love it if the rooms were updated! Special shout out to Floyd and Billy who made us feel like family during our stay!
This is our 3rd time at this resort and we love it! The kids can play at the water park all day! We loved playing mini golf but best of all we can park our car and not leave for 3 days and rest, relax, and swim. For a large family I would definitely recommend a casita.
"A good family-oriented place"
I was here with my husband, son, and grandson. We all had a good time, especially my grandson who practically lived at the River Ranch water park. There's a waterfall, lazy river, volleyball net, hot tub, mini golf, Basketball and tennis courts, and of course a nice pool. Pool service by efficient waitresses was good, and I got my required little umbrella cocktail. Plenty of chaises which I appreciated. Too many resorts are stingy with these, resulting in people hogging them or saving them for friends. The River Ranch is not the only place for a swim. Several other pools. There was one right outside our room, as well as another hot tub. The place is in a good location, just about 15 minutes from the airport. There is a very nice restaurant within walking distance. Two complaints -- We came from another Hilton resort in Sedona, and by comparison this hotel looked old. Furniture was dated and worn; rooms were really dark. Also I have to rat on the hotel staff. when I approached the desk in the lobby to check in, I stood in line *no one in front of me* for about ten minutes before any of the four check-in personnel called me over to the desk. They were all doing paperwork; one was on the phone. Thought it was kind of rude to ignore a real customer for paperwork. The doorman outside the lobby exhibited the same kind of behavior. He was out there behind his desk, but cars were tied up all over the place. Guests were dealing with their own luggage, and he was just standing there absorbed in something else. These employees need to be talked to. I was hoping for a free breakfast somewhere here, but I am learning that the higher up the hotel is on the status ladder, the less likely you get a breakfast.
Second time here. Better each time! I came for a conference with my partners. The rooms were well appointed and updated, the internet was fast and the conference facilities were excellent. We are coming back next year and I will be pleased to attend.
"Don't stay here"
Do not stay here, no matter the price! This hotel needs a complete overhaul. Our feet were black after walking across the carpet. Upon asking the front desk to move us to a cleaner room, which they did not have available, we were allowed to leave this property with a full refund. We immediately booked a stay at their sister property, Tapatio Cliffs, and enjoyed the remainder of our vacation in their recently renovated suites.
