"Great Place, warm faces"
I really love the staff here and the food is always great. I am there 3 times a year for conferences and their lunch spread for business lunches is exceptional. Always clean and professional and so helpful with anything you need.
Shoddy room renovations! Grounds not kept clean. Do not purchase an upgrade, it's not worth it. There are too many other places to stay, so keep looking. The only positive thing I can say is the staff are nice people and will address any problems.
"Need better information about pool hours!"
Hotel is in a beautiful location! The staff overall the property was very friendly and helpful. The only issue I had was that we brought my grandchildren here for the pool and slide. The night we checked in, they were having a private pool function. We made the reservation the night before, so they should of told us that the pool was not available. We told them that is why we were coming there. They do not tell you that if you want to use the waterslide, you have to request it to be opened before 10am.
"WEdding at the Point. My first time."
Food was great. Good donuts which is not common. Easy to find and to get out of. I think the wedding coordinator made a few mistakes. Did not seat the mother of the groom and granny got her seat. But it was all good in the end. Just one more wedding with a gliche.
"We won't be back - It's not up to Hilton Standards"
It was spring break week and the Final Four was also in town, so we knew the hotel would be busy. We called ahead multiple times to ensure us and the family we were vacationing with had adjoining rooms since they had an 18 month old child with a sleep schedule and we wanted to still be together as a group. We even called 48 hours in advance and were assured that the rooms would be together. Much to our dismay when we arrived on the property we were not together. Now, I will say they did try to scramble and pull something together, but this was not the way to start our trip. Eventually, they found adjoining rooms, but wait until you see the pictures (attached). Yuck, I'm pretty sure I'd rather stay in the nearby horse stables! The building was way at the top of the hill and easy 7-10 minute walk uphill/downhill to the main pool, no elevator, it was broken, to our second floor accommodations, remember we have a lot of stuff to carry with the children. And the outside cleanliness was dismal, again see the pictures...maybe they should invest in a pressure washer. Now I will say the inside of the room way up on the hill was newly renovated and nice, but the view from the balcony, if you call it that, you could barely get a chair out there, was the roof of the next building. Out the front door you stare at the side of the grey cliff, no landscaping, nothing. Needless to say, this was not satisfactory and we called down to the front desk. They were looking into it and 45 minutes later we went down there since they never got back to us. From this point they found a couple rooms in very close proximity to the main pool in the main building, but they were not adjoining which was awful because we were guaranteed they would be on multiple occasions and now the families would have to split up. These rooms were also renovated on the inside. One had a nice view and the other was a tree, literally the branches were all you could see from the balcony. And to top it off the last night of the stay I was putting our oldest to bed on the pull-out couch and punctured my knee on metal shard sticking out from the frame of the bed. The rest of the stay was just okay, the resort does not live up to it's online claims or pictures, it's an okay place to stay, I would never spend that much to stay there if I were you. And for me, I won't be back. So I did try to rectify all this while on the resort, but the manager never called back and then when he did it was while he was on his way out the door because I missed the call, listened to his voicemail within 10 minutes, called him back, got his voicemail, then left the pool immediately to go right to his office where he was gone for the day at 11:30AM...clearly, my situation was his last priority. I spoke with several other assistant managers, but they were helpless in the situation. This left me and the other family to have to deal with this all after the fact, prolonging our dismal experience. In the end, they said all they could do is offer me 50,000 Hilton points, which after spending 200,000 points to stay there, I do not feel satisfied with their offering. Particularly as a Diamond member at the time of the stay, I'm clearly an advocate for the brand and if I am them, I would be doing everything possible to keep me on. Since this experience, I'm strongly considering shifting my loyalty to another leading hotel brand. Honestly, if I'm Hilton Corporate, I'm getting in there immediately and either having them get the property up to standards or cancelling them. Truthfully, I travel a lot for work and I stay exclusively in Hilton properties all the way down to the Hampton Inn and this property DOES NOT meet the standards I have come to expect from Hilton.
