This place is all about the location. Rooms are not impressive, but do the job. The resort sits right by a series of mountain and desert trails. Golf course is nice and tennis courts nice too. Pools are really good. You feel like you are way out, but right in town. Property is a bit tired, but again it is worth the price and location. One point that frustrated us a little bit was the original front desk person we worked with wasn't overly helpful or friendly. We asked for room with a view or closer to the main building or pool and he pretty much said we were out of luck and sent us to a room we didn't like. We decided to go back and ask someone else for help and they set us up perfectly. Guess Brian was off his game that day.
" Beware Third Party Bookers"
We used our Chase points to book a Signature Suite at the Tapatio Cliffs resort. When we arrived, we were assigned a room that did not match the appearance of a Signature Suite on line. We contacted the front desk and were told their reservation showed a standard room. We took them our e-mail confirmation to prove the original booking. Unfortunately all the suites were booked. Ultimately we were able to move to our already paid by points Signature Suite late the second day of our stay. We now have to work with Chase to get our points refunded. We are also Hilton Honors members, which did not seem to make much difference. Things to watch out at this resort: Very densely packed. There is very little parking in the outer buildings. If you have lots of heavy bags ( i.e. Golf clubs) beware that not every building has close parking or elevators. Pools have lots of kids. Even the adult pool had lots of kids. Not really misbehaving, but if you are looking for a restful pool, try a side pool. Steep hills throughout the property and not always obvious pathways. Our Signature Suite was at The Falls, with limited parking, no elevator AND a pathway that led you to no where and another pathway that let you go down to the pool, but was locked on the way back to the room. Neither the housekeeping staff or the pool slide staff had any key to open the gate. So we had to go all the way down and around the pool and up a steep driveway back to the suite. The Signature Suite was spacious, clean with far superior (superior to the Standard Room) mattress in the sofa bed. The bathtub plumbing was a bit drippy, but we were able to adjust it. The bar area had a sink, microwave, and refrigerator, but no dishes or plates. The decor is a bit dated, but very serviceable. The buffet breakfast was nice with a lovely, helpful staff. The golf course also was fantastic with great staff, good carts and beautiful views. Internet speed was slow. Internet use at the pool in a rented cabana was impossible. Upon check out, unfortunately the comps we were promised for the room screw up and the inconvenience of moving our room were not fulfilled. Since we had not obtained these in writing, we had no proof and were actually tired of fighting this battle. The cautionary message is always call the hotel directly after you book through a third party. The resort tried to help us, but left most of the correction up to us. They felt it was the third party error. We had already "spent" our points, so we felt we were not getting what we paid for. We expended over 24 hours on the phone with Chase, at the front desk innumerable times, and again with Chase trying to correct the "computer-error."
"Nice pool and view but that is it"
Dirty smelly room. limited food. Told complimentary breakfast.. no only Starbucks and mile down the road. Would not recommend. Point of view a beautiful view but unable to Eat there for 3 nights due to wedding and bookings.
"THE BEST PLACE TO JUST RELAX"
The texting service they offer for the concierge is just awesome. So easy. The price isn't super cheap but the amenities and facilities are awesome. We talked to a family who has been coming here for 15 years - they love it. It's so easy. Great views of Phoenix and u can walk to the hiking trails. Not close to shopping or restaurants - but a pretty easy drive to find those. Rooms are awesome and quiet. Definitely coming back!
Visited for my daughter and her best friends 16th birthday celebration. The resort is beautiful, clean and quiet. A little of a challenge to get around as it is built into cliffs but staff is available to assist with shuttle service when needed. The pools were well kept and staff was very accommodating. The spa was wonderful! The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were large enough for two moms and daughters to be comfortable! Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend to others and visit again!
