"Reasonable hotel ruined by room climate control not working"
The hotel has a good location, very close to the beach and many of Tel Aviv's attractions. Numerous restaurants, shopping facilities etc are all within walking distance. The hotel offers free wifi, which worked reasonably well. There is a bar on the ground floor and a restaurant beside it offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. I didn't ear at the restaurant so can't comment on the quality of the food. The room itself had a good modern decor and it was reasonably spacious. All of the expected amenities - TV, kettle, bathroom cosmetics etc - were present. However, the one big negative is that the climate control system in the room was not working as it should; the temperature had been set to 26c and it couldn't be adjusted. This resulted in the room being very warm and made it impossible for me to sleep. I contacted reception about the problem, who initially advised that the temperature will decrease slowly, and I need to be patient. Having waited approximately 30 minutes, and seeing the room was still very warm, I contacted reception again who visited the room. They confirmed it wasn't working, and were unable to fix the problem as their maintenance team only work during daytime hours - this was very poor. What followed was also poor - it took another 30 minutes before they could confirm that I could sleep in another room - they had to check with the manager amongst other things. Ultimately, 1 hour after first reporting the problem, I was able to sleep in another room - the end result was that I lost 1 hour of sleep not to mention the disruption. In dealing with reception, there was a general feeling of amateurism. Overall therefore, I cannot recommend this hotel, in particular there is no confidence that if things are not right they will be able to fix it in a timely manner. This is a shame because the location of the hotel and actual room design and decor are fine.
"Great location, mediocre rooms, skip the breakfast "
First-the good: excellent location, even though there's construction going on around it, you don't hear much unless you're outside. Less than five minutes to the beach, one minute to a major road with restaurants, stores, etc. Aside from being right on the beach, you really can't beat the location. We did not stay in a renovated room; the room was adequate, fairly good mattress, clean, hot water in the showers. Pretty much what I expected. There's a bar in the middle of the lobby, which does serve a good wine. And I must've admit the wait staff was incredibly friendly. Not at the reception though. The evening reception person was lackadaisical, and the daytime reception person was dismissive, and downright unpleasant. Even more unpleasant than typical Israeli service people. You don't go there for the friendly reception. However the breakfast is less than mediocre, and stay away from the breakfast on Saturday morning. There's not much variety for the breakfast, it's stagnant; but on Saturday the eggs are under cooked and runny (gross), and made me feel pretty queasy all day. Highlight of the breakfast is fresh squeezed orange juice and grapefruit juice, and a fairly nice cappuccino machine. They do have bikes to borrow and there is parking underneath the hotel even if the reception person denies it. I would recommend this hotel if you're on a budget, and don't plan on spending much time in the hotel; and why would you' There is so much life in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, the beach, the surrounding areas that spending a lot of time in the hotel would be foolish. However this is not a honeymoon hotel.
"GROSS- STAY AWAY"
i arrived late and tired. parking was free in the lot, had to go to the front desk 3 times because my key wouldnt work. back and forth back and forth. the minute you open the door to your room its bad. the bathroom is crap, i had an old rusty electric tea pot. no carpeting, window was wide open and a huge bug was in the room- had to kill it. found not 1 but 2 hairs on the bed . the manager came to look and told me they would switch my room. the second room was a tad better but mostly the same and still gross . I was shocked that this hotel was as expensive as it was for such disgusting rooms!!! it was already in my head and i knew i couldnt stay there so i got a refund and went to a different hotel and had a great time!
"Location, location, location"
We were in this hotel for 2 nights. The location was perfect as we were able to walk to the beach and to the many stores near by. There are plenty of restaurants around. You can catch a cab to go to Jaffa (old part of the town) which I strongly recommend. The rooms are very small, but adequate. We were facing a building which is under construction. The only small downside is that their breakfast buffet is very limited. Not much to pick from. Cheese, not much fruit; only watermelon. You have to make your own orange juice. Boiled eggs, no omelets.
"Good location for discovering Tel Aviv"
The hotel is located about 200 m from the sea. The room 6th floor was small but very clean, light and quiet. No carpet floor. Right in front of our hotel window a big building is being built therfor we could only see part of the ocean. Without this building it would have been a geat view to the sea. You can walk down to Jaffa at the sea-front. Breakfast is good too and the waitresses and waiters are very polite and helpful. The location of the hotel is great and I would stay there again any time.
