"False Advertising: Beware!"
Look at the photo of this hotel. What attracts you' The beautiful pool and grounds. Be warned that this is not the view you will find at Prodigy Beach. The pool is under slow construction (We saw only 6 men setting tiles). Slow is actually the key word at Prodigy. We waited over 1/2 hour for service on the beach and finally gave up. We moved up to the grass covered lawn and waited 40 minutes for beers and snacks. The breakfast and dinner meals which were included in the packet were quite good, but avoid lunch. The wait for expensive, mediocre meals was agonizing. No one goes to a tropical beach to be in a hurry, but excepting the friendly, helpful receptionists Adjane and Carla, and the porter Edvaldo the staff seemed not only slow, but disgruntled. This was a first for me in Porto de Galinhas, where hotel staffs are generally "alto astral" happy and lively. Live music offered in the afternoons or evenings was nice, but be aware that weddings are held in a neighboring residence and the music clashes. Wedding music kept us awake until 1:00AM. We enjoyed fireworks, provided by the wedding, and the full moon. Had the grounds looked like what was advertised and the service stepped up a bit, the weekend would have been delightful.
"Modern and comfortable hotel"
We loved this hotel, the location is great, right on the beach and they have food and drink service at the beach. The only bad thing is the construction that has been going on for a while now and is quite noisy. The food is very good and the rooms very comfortable. We didn't like the bathrooms very much because of the shower.
"Modern hotel, big rooms"
The hotel is quite modern and very comfortable to stay in. The bathroom is a good size with a spacious shower and really good water pressure! The beds are comfortable and the rooms are really big. Laundry service is also very good and fast! It's a big hotel so it can get quite noisy and busy. I was woke up by people walking up and down the hallway as you can hear anything that happens outside your room. Apart from that we really enjoyed our stay.
"absolutely helpful staff + rooms and facilities good, access to the beach simple and well attended by beach "garotos"."
Reception: Unfortunately, me and 3 other guests arrived to the hotel after a series of troubles which included getting our bagage wet while changing airports at Sao Paulo The staff at check in was absolutely helpful , they even re-arranged the disposition of the beds to turn the bedrooom into two single separate beds room as requested. The whole of the staff from chek in, to the waiters, maitre, housekeeping etc, were very kind , but it turned out that some situations were solved with the only English speaking personnel when it was his shift. Our command of Portuguese reached its limit, and they didn't speak Spanish at all. We could see works in progress to make this hotel much bigger, my suggestions is : the staff at chek in and in frequent contact with guests seriously need to learn English . As Argentinians we are used to have "mates", when requesting some hot water, we were sent to a kitchen to warm the water in pans ourselves , there was not a single electric kettle in the hotel''''' Restaurant: I had dinner at the hotel restaurant. every night Here is what I found: Salads and vegetable side dishes too simple and repetitive. In the case of tomato salad, the tomatoes were not tender and bright red, it was as when one cuts the slices of tomatoes too much in advance. There was just white rice as the only choice, in some other Brazilian restaurants they prepare another type of rice, which has carrot cubes, green peas/sweet corn and even raisings!!! The selection of hot dishes (chicken, lamb, beef, fish) was ok The choice of desserts (sobremesa) was very good every night. Our group even complimented the patisserie cheff) The staff at the restaurant very kind and ready to ehlp Entertainment There was a team of young people who invited guests to different physical activities during the day, and at night there was some type of music show with a time limit of 10 p.m which seems quite good, in the end one goes to places like these to have some fun but also to have a good night's sleep Tehre were also activities for pre-teens
During my visit, a lot of changes are happening in common area and expansion was in place to increase number of rooms. When I arrived, hotel was overbooked and I need to spend one night in other hotel, which was supposed to be in the same category that Marupiara, but it was worst. I noticed that same thing happened to other guests - they need to improve organization in this sense. Room was really good, pretty new. Swimming pool was only ok, as well as breakfast. Staffing was really friendly. Maybe I'll return to check how hotel will be after all changes that were in place. I really expect to see improvements!
