"A Little Gem!"
If you want to stay in the heart of things, then this little hotel is not for you. But to be honest, staying near the Old Town Square is, having now visited it, not that appealing as it is very touristy. Pure White is a boutique hotel with an extremely obscure front - it's signage is difficult to see as it blends neatly into the other buildings adjacent to it - an issue for the taxi drivers we used who had never heard of it! Despite an extremely heavy front door, once inside it really is very pleasant. We were upgraded to an Executive Room as it was my birthday and it was very pleasant - tea and coffee making facilities, a wardrobe with shelving, a safe and a four poster bed housing twin mattresses. The only downside was the lack of a mirror in the bedroom - I don't think I have ever stayed in a hotel without a mirror above the dressing table and to be honest, this was an inconvenience. I am guessing that because a hairdryer was in the bathroom, the designers felt there was no need for it. But the hairdryer is one of those that you have to keep your finger on the button for it to work and I stopped using those years ago, preferring to bring my own. Thankfully, I had brought a small mirror with me - balancing it on a box of tissues and my glasses case - problem solved. However, I would have also liked a full length mirror in the room - there was plenty of wall space by the entrance of the room where it could have been placed. Each bed had a very thin duvet and one pillow - we both requested an additional duvet and pillow each - it was cold - and this fell to the night receptionist who, while manning the front desk, also had to deal with housekeeping requests. He was not too happy to oblige but then wished us a good night after delivering the items. I should also point out that the room does have air-conditioning so would be fine for those travelling in summer. The bathroom was clean with a modern sink. The shower was housed in a deepsided bath with a half screen and this was, in my opinion, not great. I think you either want a bath or a enclosed shower and if both can't be incorporated, then the enclosed shower is the one to go for. It was difficult to run the shower as you literally had to lean to the back of the bath, which was partially obscured by the shower screen, to turn the taps on which were rather stiff. Breakfast was fine in my opinion - croissants, fresh bread, yoghurts, cold meats, cheese, scrambled eggs, cakes and juice. There was also a tea and coffee machine. My only criticism is that it finished too early at 10am. As this is the only meal the hotel serves, I think, personally, it should stay open until 11am. If you don't make breakfast, however, there are a few cafes nearby. The biggest asset to this hotel is David, who mans the front desk during the day. He is friendly and extremely helpful. Initially, I was concerned at the location of the hotel, but David pointed out that it was only a five minute walk to the underground - 2/3 stops on the green line and you are in the Old Town Square. Another five minute walk from the hotel leads you to where a number of different trams run and these take you down to the river front. From there, the various attractions of the Old Town are easily accessible by foot. The question is, would I stay here again' I'm not sure. We had a very enjoyable stay in Prague but in reality Pure White, was just a place to rest our heads at the end of the day.
Really comfortable and clean hotel, friendly staff, breakfast limited but enjoyable. A bit out of the way but if you enjoy walking as we do it's not a problem. Transport easily accessible, mini market's and cash machine close by.
"Not best of locations but ticks a lot of boxes"
In terms of location -not brilliant -reception saying a short walk of 30 mins into old town! Taxi costs 200 Czech crowns each way so factor that in. Staff helpful getting extra pillows although staff did moan a little when asked for duvet as well -evidently need to log it which is a chore. Entrance to hotel locked and relies of card access. Taxi drivers not heard of hotel as not well known in the area. Breakfast was fine. Overall for price paid very good experience. Nice touch was a wish from manager on wife's birthday and a few chocolates -although had to remind them a few times. Staff keen on selling day tours but do not offer much other help. Situated in quiet location away from main tourist attractions.
"Beautiful Hotel, friendly helpful staff"
This was our third stay here, and in passing we mentioned that to David who checked us in, we were immediately given his favourite room! Which was lovely, and had a balcony which was an added bonus for us as smokers. The staff are all very friendly and speak perfect English. The rooms are all clean, bright and have everything you need, plus added extras in case you forget anything. You are given a map of the area and if you ask for advice on good places to visit they are very helpful. This is situated in a good central location, not far away from all amenities. I would highly recommend this hotel and in fact am planning another visit back in May with friends.
After reading the rave reviews on trip advisor we were expecting great things from our hotel but were rather disappointed. We were greeted very warmly and given lots of information about the city, but as we had just arrived it was a bit overwhelming. Our room was very clean, but also quite basic, and the addition of some metal bed posts and modern lighting could not disguise this. The breakfasts were never mentioned in the reviews with good reason I think as they were very poor. Who wants to eat raw carrot, cucumber and tomato' There was a basic 2slice toaster that took for ever and most people said it wasn't worth using as it took too long! Nothing changed over the 3 morning we were there, and on the last morning I just had a slice of bread. Although the location is quiet and in a nice area you need to use the tram to get about. We walked and walked and wished that the hotel was a bit nearer the centre, but that was not a real problem as we found some nice restaurants nearby. When we came to check out we were charged for a large bottle of water that was on the dresser when we arrived .. we hadn't seen a bit of paper saying that it had to be paid for and just assumed that as in most hotels it was free. We would not recommend this hotel to any of our friends.
