"Aged to perfection"
Not a new hotel obviously but generally well maintained. Amenities and facilities are as what you expect from a shangrila. Customer service and the food are generally good. Breakfast, lunch and dinner spread is pretty awesome. Location is superb as it is situated in the heard of the admin capital of Malaysia, Putrajaya. Great choice if you are planning for an extensive tour of Putrajaya.
"Master class Service!!"
This is not your typical luxury Shangri-La, however what it lacks in luxury is compensated by its amazing service. I have stayed over 90+ nights in this hotel and never thought of moving out. The rooms are value for money, the room service rates are a bit over the top on the food. The swimming pool water is salty, which I was not expecting, however understand that it is common in hotels across KL. The gym and breakfast is good enough. Why should you stay here - If you work in Cyberjaya, have work in Putrajaya or have to stay closer to Airport! It's also a good place to unwind away from KL city. Tip - Talk to FB Director Mr Suresh or Mr Saiful at front desk if you need help or info. Very resourceful and always willing to help.
"Not great for a Shangri-La, but not bad for the price"
Hotel is not too far from the airport, but still close to half an hour by taxi. No much is within walking distance. The property was probably rushed to complete construction about 10 yrs ago, and thus it seems rough around the edges, and now aging is also starting to show. The pool is outdoors, and looked to have a lot of mold in the pool tile grout, as well as a lot of black bits floating around in the pool water. When we were there, they had somehow run out of all sizes of bathroom towels. There were some pool towels, but we were not allowed to take our used pool towels back to our room. The room looked nice on the surface, but like the exterior, the rooms were also rough around the edges. One shower had weak water pressure, and all the closet doors were difficult to open. Rooms have balconies, but they did not look well maintained and so were unappealing to even walk out onto them. The breakfast buffet was ok, standard average for Asia. The BBQ dinner buffet was a big disappointment; food was not tasty, the selection was weak, BBQ meats were of low quality (tough, etc) as were most of the other dishes. Happy hour in the lobby area had virtually no food, and a limited drink selection (by waiter service) so not really worth going to if you have any other options. Overall, however, it was a fine stay considering the price I paid was well under US$100 per night per room, and included breakfast and wifi.
"Excellent service and great for a stopover"
We were traveling as a group on October 1st and needed a stopover close to KLIA for one night. The airport hotels were all full due to F1 so we opted for this place and what a pleasant surprise. As other reviewers say, it may not be as swish as the Shang in downtown KL or other top properties in the group such as Bangkok, but we loved it here. Ahead of our arrival we booked up the spa for our group and the massages were excellent, also great value for money. The pool adjoining the spa is also lovely, feels very much like a resort. Rooms are spacious, spotless and beautifully appointed. On the night we were there, they had an Indian buffet and BBQ on, RM120++ per person with seafood, great curries etc. Breakfast was also very good with an extremely tasty Nasi Lemak and chicken rendang. Being half an hour from the airport is is of course not as convenient as the Sama Sama for instance. But I will definitely be returning. Special thanks to Jit in reservations for helping with all our special requests and to Shahida, executive housekeeper who organized our spa sessions. Keep up the great work guys.
"Decent service but let down by hotel"
Normally you associate Shangri-La hotels with real luxury, but not this one. The building and rooms are very tired, unappealing and in serious need of an upgrade. It's a shame as the setting is great and wasted to a degree. The pool is fantastic and the staff very accommodating. A decent BBQ buffet dinner but breakfast was poor for a hotel of this expected quality. Went there for the F1 weekend, which was 20 minutes away.
