Hotel has great location by the port and across from beach and public parking. Off season room rate was very good and quality of hotel is great. Location easy walking distance to most off what you want to do and see. Hotal parking is excess much less expensive to use public lot.
"My experience in Radisson Blu Cannes"
High quality standards hotel in one of the most distinguished city on the french Riviera, Cannes. The hotel is located just in front of the Palais des Festivals and the Casino, with a selection of rooms facing the Mediterranean.
The memory I will have of my stay at the Radisson blue hotel is of being the main item on the menu It really isn't acceptable these days to book into a hotel of this calibre and be eaten alive Thank god it's the last night We booked a suite for eight nights I have an itching welt for each and every night. I will not be coming back.
"We recommend NOT staying in this Radisson Blu Hotel in Cannes!"
What can I say about front desk people who lie and are incredibly rude' We recommend not staying in this hotel in Cannes! In our two week trip in France and Switzerland, this was the worst experience (also in my recent extensive worldwide travels). I walked in in the late afternoon/early evening of Tuesday Oct 4 to book a room for 3 nights for my husband and me, and the two women at the desk told me that they had a room for the first 2 nights, but none for the third night because of a specific conference (which actually ended before the third night). One of them looked at her computer and initially told me the first night would be around 400 euros, then the two women had a conversation with each other in French in front of me, and then the second woman said "oh no, the first night will be 500 euros." They pointed out that the rate changes per night depending on how full is the hotel (fair enough, but why the conversation I couldn't understand and then the change in price'). I got the very definite impression from their rude demeanor that they did not want me to stay there. I walked out and across the street to my husband, who hadn't been with me, and he immediately went on line to the Cannes Radisson Blu 1835 Hotel's own website, and was able to book a room for us for 3 nights within 5 minutes, with the first night being ~400 euros, the second night ~500 euros, and the third night Oct 6, when the hotel was supposedly "completely full" according to my initial conversation at the front desk, the rate was only ~200 euros, an indication that the hotel was actually NOT full on the third night. So we booked online, and checked in. The room was right over an alley where the delivery trucks come to deliver to the hotel early in the morning and all day, and also, two adjacent houses were under construction. The trucks were so close that we could have stepped out our window and onto the roof of the trucks. Needless to say, it was miserably noisy. The only good thing about this room was a very spacious bathroom. Before the third night, we called to see if we could change rooms, and they said there were plenty of rooms (as we suspected, the third night was not full at all, despite what they told me when I initially tried to book at the front desk). For the third night, they moved us to a room that was quieter, but it was incredibly tiny. The service was really poor and the staff quite rude in general...this is not a luxury hotel in any way, and the two women at the front desk should receive re-training in hospitality. Of note, the next two nights we stayed at the Schweitzerhof Bern for 400 euros and it was the best luxury hotel we've stayed in a number of years...exquisite service and accommodations and so quiet.
