"Avarage, but not bad"
This hotel has amazing customer service. Receptionists were very friendly, ready to assist you in all. One huge plus was the early snack, starting at 4:30. I had transfer to the airport at 5 and coffee was just on time. Lobby and reception look modern and nice. Otherwise room i had was bit old and need some reconstruction. It was big and clean, but nothing wow. I had this hotel as a free night from Turkish airlines, so dont complaint at all, just if i pay for that, i expect from 5* hotel smth more. One more very important thing is noise. Hotel is located just by the airport, so all night you hear planes landing and taking off. I can sleep with noise, but if for you its an issue, ask one of "quite rooms" i think they have some.
"A good night rest"
We stayed in this hotel courtesy of Turkish Airlines the night before our flight. We had arrived from a 14-hour flight so we were very tired and just asked for a rest. The room was good and the bathroom big enough. The beds weren't the most comfortable I've slept in, but they were ok. We went to the pool and we didn't find it very cool, as it showed some signs of ageing. Staff was very nice and polite, especially in breakfast room: the breakfast was really delicious and with plenty of variety to choose from. Overall, we recommend this hotel.
As a frequent business visitor to Istanbul, I prefer to pick this hotel if available. There is a convenient and regular shuttle to the airport, which only takes a few minutes, and the level of comfort and service in the hotel is good. There is a good selection of food and drink available,
"It's 'quite' close to the airport"
Stayed for just a single night at the Radisson Blu hotel. Having been unable to located the free shuttle I opted for a taxi, just 15 lira, and in under 10 minutes I was at the hotel, not as close to the airport as some airport hotels. Check in was swift, and I was off to my room. The hotel is modern and clean throughout, with the bar and seating area offering a comfortable relaxed environment, as well as a large business centre. My room was clean and well furnished, complimentary water, ironing board and fruit, along with a well stocked mini bar. Shower was amazing, loads of water pressure and consistent temperature. WiFi is free, and an OK signal in the main hotel lobby and restaurants, though got a few signal drop outs in the room (4th floor) The hotel room (407) wasn't quiet, I can understand aircraft noise, but early morning a school opposite regularly played loud music I think to indicate something to the pupils .. Not great after a long flight. Nice hotel, but I'd advise asking for a room facing away from the school.
"Free Turkish Airlines Stayover"
For long airport waits on Turkish Airlines connecting flights, they provide free hotel accommodation or a free tour of the city, and I was put up in this hotel - bed only, no meals. The hotel is modern, mid-range and has a fairly open style. Certainly not in the upper bracket. I really enjoyed the lobby area with it's quirky chandelier-style decor. The rooms didn't blow me away - they're fine, no issue, but not top-tier. Getting to the restaurant was a bit tricky and many of the rooms are a fair walk away from reception. Keep in mind that you're at the end of a runway - the sound insulation is very good, but if your hearing is very sensitive you'll be aware of the constant stream of jets taking off, along with a little bit of highway noise below you.
