"Left Hand Doesn't Know What the Right is Doing."
What an unorganized business. I called the hotel to book for the Easter Lunch advertised on their web site for Easter Sunday the 16th of April starting at 11am. After the reservations person took my details he told me the Easter Lunch was actually on Monday the 17th starting at 12 noon. I asked him why what he told me and what is on the web site was different and he said he would have the restaurant management call me back to confirm. Two days later and no call from the restaurant manager so I again phoned the number published on the web site and asked to be put through to the restaurant. The restaurant didn't pick up the phone so they transferred me to someone in reservations who told me they had only four reservations for the Easter Lunch so they cancelled it. I asked if they had informed the people who had made a booking of the cancellation and he didn't know. Does this sound like the kind of place you want to rely on for any booking'
"Too short a stay."
This was an emergency stay, necessitated by my need to catch a 10am flight out of OR Tambo. Our experience here has made this one of the best decisions I've made concerning my early flights. The staff were superb! The warm welcome at the check-in desk, the friendly, professional porter, the restaurant staff who catered to our 9pm hunger, the porters who directed us to the atm, and ALL the staff who addressed my five-year old daughter with genuine affection and respect, made this such an easy review to write. The room was spacious enough for three of us to be comfortable and get a good night's sleep. My only complaint was that the aircon was loud, so we had to turn it off. Other than that, there were no sounds from the streets, not even in the morning work rush. The proximity of this hotel to the Sandton City shopping precinct is within walking distance. The price, for the one night's stay, with all the facilities and amenities available to us, made this worth every cent. The Radisson Blu on Madinah Road in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, needs to send its staff here to see how guests should be treated. They should also see what modern facilities look like and should make the effort to upgrade theirs.
"Less than expected"
The hotel has very good rooms, modern and spacious. It is not possible to rely on the swimming pool which is super small and can not be used for swimming. The service is less responsive than expected from a high class hotel. Decent place as a whole, considering the not cheap cost (more than 100 usd per night).
We visited the hotel in January 2016. It is across from the Gautrain station and from the Sandton Square, which makes it hugely convenient. Rooms are brightly painted. The m, and bathroom was compact but sufficient. Breakfast is a great range of good quality dishes.
"Very good business hotel"
Very nice and convenient business hotel located next to Sandton City shopping mall. There is a shuttle that goes to the mall once per hour (until 10 pm). It only takes 3 minutes to drive there. They should make it more frequent but you can always work around their times as it always leaves at the same time. The hotel is modern and staff are helpful. The food it´s nice and the breakfast choice is very decent. The wifi works very well and it´s easy to use with no limitation of the number of devices. The rooms are good size, have a table to work if needed, beds very comfortable, have very large windows and as an item to improve, they only have indirect light so at night the rooms are quite dim. I would avoid the rooms at the very end of the corridors as they are next to some air conditioning equipment and they are noisy. I had to come down twice to Joburg in a short period of time and chose this hotel also for my second trip so would recommend it.
