We stayed at the Radisson Blu for one night on a Friday after flying in from Europe and before heading to Kruger. The reception area was very lively when we arrived, we were checked in a matter of minutes and escorted to our Business Class room which was very nice for our short stay. The rooms were a good size with Nespresso machines, good bathroom and amenities and comfy beds. We freshened up and headed down to the hotel bar / pool deck for some lunch and glass or two of wine... Aaaand thats where we stayed until bedtime :) - The bar / pool deck had a great vibe, nice comfortable seating, a good mix of locals and tourists all enjoying a drink and some food and the live DJ. After realising we had been there several hours and it was now dinner time, we also ate at the hotel which didn't disappoint - I ordered the ostrich and springbok which was delicious, my only criticism was that for the price, it came with no side dishes at all, just the meat and two small onions... I can't imagine a bit of mashed potato or some roasted veggies would send the hotel bankrupt. We also took breakfast at the hotel which was just great and set off early for our drive to Kruger. I would definitely stay here again.
"A good business hotel. "
This is a solid business hotel. Very comfortable. Good rooms and bathrooms. All business needs catered for. Decent wifi decent breakfast and excellent location if your work is in Sandton. I haven't had any other meals in the hotel. The bar is ok. Not spectacular.
I stayed at the hotel during a business trip. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall the atmosphere was very relaxing and service was very good. The area is one of the best in Jo'burg and I felt quite safe. I had also a break of few days and went on a safari and I could leave my luggage there. I was also offered to use the changing facilities in the gym to freshen up given I had already checked out of my room.
"Highly convenient location and a good overnight stop."
This very modern hotel provided all the facilities you'd need for an overnight stay, once you find the entrance - up 3 floors in a lift which is tucked away inside the building! The great selling point of the hotel is its immediate proximity to the Sandton City Gautrain station - with its very impressive (clean, safe, fast and very modern) dedicated rail service from the airport (and Pretoria).
Fancy hotel in a very good location. If you are in Johannesburg for business, then this is probably the best location for a hotel. But that is just about it. Spent three nights at the hotel and i must say i was not impressed by anything else other than location. And maybe the rooms, they are really nice to be honest. Anything else was just poor. Starting from the service, right from check in, i have had better, even at the restaurant. The service is just average, nothing really outstanding. The worst part about the hotel is the food. I had breakfast and lunch here everyday for three days and dinner once in those three days. The food is terrible to be honest and the buffet selection is not that wide. They serve salads without dressing, something i did not expect at a five star. at the serving stations, you had to request for things like serving spoons. disappointing!! And house keeping need to up their game
