"Ok but a bit run down"
As a long time Radisson fan it was a natural choice. The rooms are unfortunately in need of refurbishment. They are the worst I've seen at Radisson- a bit dirty, outdated furniture and bathrooms. The dinner restaurant and breakfast were up to standard.
"Tired and in desperate need of some refurbishment"
I am currently staying in the hotel and although the staff are friendly and the breakfast experience is good I have had two uncomfortable nights in a room that is straight out of the 1990's. The major issue for me is the temperature which in the room is 26C with the window open! With or without air conditioning on is the same, it is hot hot hot. I mentioned it and an engineer came to the room, smiled and did nothing. Even when the aircon is set for 19C it blows out hot air. I cannot sleep in such a hot room. The room is tired with wallpaper hanging off the walls and the carpet looks dirty. Then lights behind the bed flicker on and off constantly so best not sue them. The wardrobe door is broken and does not slide open properly and all in all the hotel has an uncared for look. Clearly needs some money spending on it. The traffic noise means it is not possible to leave the window open at night.
"Great Stay - Great Breakfast - Great Neighborhood Location"
I had a fine stay at this hotel. My needs are minimal - didn't need the staff much so can't comment so much on their English as others did, but, you know what...the hotel is in China so English isn't going to be 100%. This isn't the Four Seasons so I won't compare it as such. ATM worked great in lobby and they changed money at the front desk, if you prefer. There is a wonderful supermarket next door. Great to see how Chinese shop at large supermarkets and see their products, and, yes, indulge in a Diet Coke and maybe a candy bar. If you go in the morning there are some very interesting vendors selling breakfast hot dogs and such. As others commented, the rooms might seem dated. However, their colors and style didn't detract at all from my being comfortable, safe and getting a great sleep. Shower was wonderful with great water pressure. The in room safe worked great. Really, no complaints. Oh, people mention the internet. In the 6 places I stayed in mainland China the internet wasn't as fast as it is in the US. But, you aren't in the US, so not sure you can compare them the same. With the Chinese government censoring many sites, I wonder if that holds up the internet...in any event, I think the great neighborhood that this hotel was in more than made up for any minor flaws the hotel might have. For me it was the first stop in China and it was nice to be able to walk around so much and get a feel for a neighborhood that wasn't too touristy to kick off 3 weeks of site-seeing. The breakfast buffet was really ample and most anyone could find a hearty breakfast. Would gladly stay here again!
"good service and value for money"
good service and value for money, the swimming pool is wonderful (the best swimming pool I ever seen). the receptionists are very friendly. the location also is very good, you are very accessible to down town and famous bar streets San Li Tun
"Decent location but odd rooms"
Let me tell you one thing, this hotel was nothing like I've ever seen before. It was in an okay location, starbucks across the street, mcdonalds around the corner, even close to a carrefour (supermarket) but the rooms were very odd. The curtains were a vibrant green and the carpet was a mustard yellow with specs of colour. Showers also drained very slowly. I felt as though if I were to leave the water on for more than a minute at a time I was going to be standing in a tub of knee high water. Aside from that the lobby was very festively decorated for christmas with a huge tree and a child size gingerbread house right next to it. The staff also spoke very little english which made communication difficult.
