"Fabulous and faultless"
We had a 3 night stay at this hotel. From arrival to departure our stay was 100% satisfactory. Our room on 4th floor was immaculate, spacious and comfortable. Unlike many European hotels, tea making facilities are available in the room - no milk. The star attraction has to be the gigantic fish tank in the foyer which has to be cleaned by divers. The hotel is a few minutes walk from Alexanderplatz train station. Trains from the airport run every half an hour. To make the most of our time we bought a 2 day pass on the yellow city tour bus. €32 for 2 different tours. The yellow route takes in the main sights of West Berlin including Checkpoint Charlie where the museum is full of information about the building and demolishing of the wall. The purple tour takes in more of East Berlin including a walk along the route of the wall. For anyone who loves a flea market, the one at Mauerpark on Sunday mornings is amazing. We didn't eat in the hotel but there are lots of places to eat in the area. As is usual on our trips, we sought out a local supermarket and bought rolls, cheese etc from the Kaiser supermarket which is a 10 minute walk to the rear of the hotel. Being vegetarian it was quite a struggle to find food for evening meals however. There are a couple of vegan outlets but they tend to be more snack bars. Unlike UK all major shops are closed on Sundays so make sure to stock up in advance ! We absolutely loved our stay in Berlin and will certainly return to Radisson Blu .
This is the reaction upon entering the hotel atrium and seeing the huge cylindrical aquarium dominating the central space. We chose an internal room on the 6th floor facing the fish and the view from the bed gave the illusion of being under water. This made the hotel special. The room itself was clean, modern and comfortable. We had to complain as our air conditioning was not working and this was fixed in less than an hour with no hassle at all. Location is excellent, right next to Berlin Cathedral and Museum Island and walking distance to Brandenburg Gate. Visiting in December it is also very close to the Christmas Markets, one being just over the road. We had breakfast in the hotel once, fabulous choice including Bloody Mary, Champagne and lovely hot smoked salmon, but despite being excellent, at 25 Euros it is quite expensive. Would recommend walking just around the corner to Andy's Diner for a huge breakfast at less than half the price. Good hotel in great location. Would definitely recommend.
"Great location with stunning views"
Only 10 minutes from the train station at Alexanderplatz past a chick selection of restaurants and coffee shops is located the Radisson Blu. Asked if we wanted a view inside or out and we opted for the inside view which meant we could look out onto the largest indoor aquarium you could ever wish for. Great friendly service in every dept backed up by a breakfast that has something for everyone. Very attentive. Hop on hop off bus stops a few metres away. Will definitely go back. Rooms a good size and spotlessly clean.
"Unique Stay in a Great Location"
Upon entering the hotel and checking in, I had to apologise for my ignorance to the member of staff checking us in, I was taken back by the enormous fish tank in the lobby, this really makes this place unique and worth a stay in itself. The rooms are pretty average other than the nic view of the fish tank, which the novelty of wears after a couple of nights. the location of the hotel is good, a short ten minute, walk from brandenburg gate. Alexanderplatz itself has many restaurants and bars. All in all I would reccomend staying in Berlin, its a beautiful city, but you would not need any longer than three days to see it all.
This hotel certainly has the wow factor! The aquadome is an amazing centrepiece to the hotel. The service, facilities and rooms are all excellent. As it was January we were able to hold our room til 3pm on checkout which was handy as our flight wasn't til late. The drinks at the bar are on the pricey side but that's to be expected, I paid €13 & €15 for some whisky cocktails - they were good in fairness, but certainly not cheap. They play good house music round the bar though, the staff are great & you've got the backdrop of the tropical fish too so we enjoyed it. We really enjoyed our stay & would certainly stay here again!
