"No morning blues "
We arrived at the hotel early .The staff were friendly as they had rooms available we checked in . The rooms are pleasant and clean . The location seems central . All in all good experience will stay here again .
Stayed here for 3 nights with my wife and son./ On booking I asked for a very low floor,m as I do not being high up, but on check in we were given the 15th floor and told that there was no choice in the matter. Also on check in I mentioned that as I had booked through Expedia and was an Expedia VIP, I was to be given a 20% discount on all food and drink. They initially denied this existed, until I showed them the email The room itself was OK, nothing special ( well apart from the fact that unless you close a blind you can see right into the bathroom from the bed area ...whoever thought this one up)> The main problem is the air conditioning which one cannot turn down to below 20 degrees or so. WHich means one has to have the window open , which in turn ( at present) means being woken at 7am each morning with loud construction work., The hotel is also very close to a main train station so with the window open you hear the announcements and the train wheels etc.. etc... As for the restaurant in the Hotel, we only ate there once, but it was dreadful. IT took them 5 ++ minutes to seat us although there ws plenty of rooom. The menu is very small and when finally the food did come it was extremely poor Breakfast is OK with lots of selection, but overall the staff acted like they had come out of a zombie film. Also a charge of 26 euros for Breakfast is ridiculous The bar was on the whole staffed by nice people, but it just shows what false ideas this place has, when I ordered a decaffeinated espresso and then watched with horror as she put instant coffee granules into an espresso holder and poured water over it. What self respecting place does not have decaf coffee beans. She also tried to persuade me that this was an espresso On to the check out. Again I had to raise the point about the discount which was then checked with management, after which it took the lady ( well girl really) around 20 minutes to do the calculations. When I mentioned the problems with the air conditioning and the noise there was no apology. She just said... oh in winter we don't let the air conditioning get set below a certain level The check in and check out staff were rude., All in all a very unpleasant experience and also the room rates we were charged did not correspond to the rates quoted when it was booked. Do not stay here IT does not deserve support. Unfortunately I was feeling unwell or else I would have asked to speak to a manager, but I could not get out of the placed fast enough
"Nice hotel and friendly staff"
We had a very nice welcome. The staff is English and German speaking. The room had a very nice view, the bed was fine, cleaning fine. The parking was cheaper than expected. It is very close to Dammtor railway- and S-Bahn station
Just spent the weekend at the Radisson Blu Hamburg and it really is nice comfortable hotel. The location was very central to the shopping area and the Alster Lake. The reception is very modern with the bar and restaurant located near by which were good value for money compared to other hotels. The reception staff were very professional, friendly and extremely helpful as we were checking in a large party and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are very comfortable with really good beds and a nice good size bathroom. The hotel is very close to a transport hub which makes getting about the city very easy and great value. There are many snack shops and a Macdonalds nearby with a great Bier Keller about 5 minutes walk away. All in all an excellent hotel in a great location with a lot of facilities on the door step and well worth considering if planning a trip to Hamburg.
Good facilities, clean, comfortable and tidy large room. Really nice modern styling throughout. The bar was reasonably priced for a city hotel. Friendly staff who all spoke fantastic English as my German is not great! Could not fault it.
