"Great for Christmas Market trip"
Me and my boyfriend stayed here the weekend before Christmas. I booked the trip as a surprise for my boyfriend’s bday, I let the hotel know in advance and we were welcomed with some cheese, olives, bread and red wine in our room which was a nice, thoughtful touch, especially as we checked in late and were hungry. Check in – the gentleman that checked us in wasn’t particularly friendly and asked if we had booked our trip through Expedia (which we had) and requested (quite abruptly) that next time we book through them directly instead, which I thought was quite an unnecessary comment and why would I do that when it’s cheaper booking through Expedia. We didn’t talk to front desk staff much, but when we did, to ask for directions to the city centre I got quite a rude response and was told to give him space. The hotel itself is nice and looks lovely to pull up to, especially in the run up to Christmas with the huge Christmas tree in reception and Christmas lights outside. Rooms/ bathroom - were nice and clean, and they were cleaned to a good standard every day. Tea/ Coffee were supplied in the room alongside a kettle, although me and my partner found it quite annoying that only 2 tea bags were supplied every day, however one day we did ask reception for a couple more tea bags, not a big ask but the same gentleman that checked us in reacted like we’d asked him for the moon and rudely pointed us to the bar – however a nice girl at the desk stepped in and grabbed some extra tea bags and milk for us which we were grateful for. Gym/ Spa – very simple/ quite small, but clean which is the main thing. Massages were very overpriced so we didn’t bother, but we would have had it been cheaper. Location – I know a lot of people have said that it’s quite far from the city centre, it is… if you’re lazy. It’s a nice 15-20 minute walk which includes a nice walk across the padlock bridge which we enjoyed doing every morning/ evening– so no real need to catch a tram. It’s also a 5minute walk to Lidl, which was good to get basics eg water - as the petrol station next to the hotel was expensive. Tax – Annoying that they add this to your bill on Check Out. Taxi to/from airport – We thought we were being ripped off initially as it was around 30 EUROS for a 10minute drive, if that – but apparently this is the normal fee. Good location to airport.
"Decent hotel, pricey parking."
Good hotel, consistent with the Radisson brand. Check in service was good (vouchers for complimentary beers were a nice touch). Room was comfortable with lots of storage space. Breakfast was also very good with a massive selection of breads, fruits, meats, sweet and savoury options, hot food options etc. The hotel is slightly outside the city centre, but only a few minutes' tram ride away from the main attractions and Christmas markets. The only downside is the parking - 19 Euros a day is a bit steep for guests.
"Great stay but where is my Tea'"
We stayed here for 2 nights during mid December to visit the Christmas Markets. The hotel is one train stop away from the Cathedral or an enjoyable 15-20 min walk over the bridge into the city. The room was great and had everything we required. HOWEVER: After calling 3 times to request more tea bags & milk, lets just say I am still waiting for this to arrive. I resolved this myself by going to the cleaner in the hallway to ask him for some teabags & milk. Wondering why my original 3 requests were never addressed. Another thing that concerned me was when we wanted to settle our drinks in the bar area, the waitress asked if I could put my room number and signature which I did on a notepad she provided. She divulged my information when she handed the notepad to the large party next to us, who joked about putting their drinks on our room number. I overhead this and even if it was a joke, it was a little concerning that I may have been stuck with a bill that wasn't mine, thankfully this did not occur.
"Good hotel in Cologne"
Good location if you have business at Kolnmesse - near to only 4 minutes walk. The rooms are well equiped and the quality of sleep is ok as well😊The breakfast is rich and should be appreciated during weekend it last till 12:00. Helpfull personnel. If the hotel is full, you will wait a little bit more than usual at the Front Office - the girls from here move slowly. The Dom and 30 minuta away walking distance. Enjoy !
"ONE OF THE BEST RADISSON BLU IN GERMANY"
The Hotel has a very good location at Koeln Deutz, very close to the Messe Koeln and the Train station. The city center is only 5-8 minutes by taxi. The hotel has a very good service for Elite Carlson Members>Business Class Rooms, free breakfast and 50% discount on the rates of the Underground Parking!Everybody is very polite and the rooms are clean and very quite. The Italian restaurant Paparazzi has few choices, but is very good. There is also a nice gym with a Sauna area and Steam bath underground. In general is a very good hotel in Cologne, with usually good rates for Radisson Blu chain! My number one selection for Cologne!
