"Very Nice Hotel in Good Location"
Spent several nights at this hotel and was pretty pleased overall. The location is good, a fifteen minute walk or so to Plaza Mayor and central areas. Close enough to be accessible but also quiet. The room was nice...the bed was a little firmer than we like, but that is preference. The staff did their best to resolve by providing mattress pad which helped. The pool and steam room were nice and much appreciated after walking around Madrid. The staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely return.
"The locating of the hotel is more then great"
We are just happy to stay at such us location!!!! One of our preferred hotel chains is Radisson. We were never disappointed. Our favorite if you can ever go, pls go to Radisson Tuzla. The best ever ♡ Madrid is one of those style hotels, but is very nice. They call the breakfast, super breakfast, it's not. But if you count the nespreeso Maschine in the room with breakfast, then you have the super breakfast;) but in this case is location everything!!! Prado across the street and the best restaurants in the town are here !!! We just love our Radisson. If you want to see the best super breakfast, then you have to Radisson golden bay Malta
"Good for a city break"
We stayed here last week for 4 nights, using Club Carlson points. I got upgraded to a business room which basically gets you dressing gowns and a coffee maker. It didn’t have a desk however, so not really a business room in that dsense. Rooms are newly refurbished and very clean, although slightly small if you’re not used to Madrid hotels, and the windows are well insulated against noise. The staff we met were excellent. We didn’t have breakfast there as they wanted an extra 17.50 Euros each! Instead we went to the cafes next door. One criticism would the layout of the tables in the square outside – the Radisson has its “own” terrace with tables chairs and umbrellas, however it’s not easy to tell which is theirs and which is the café’s. There are no signs and nobody explains it. First evening I was able to charge some food and drinks to our room, but the next morning for breakfast, sat at what I thought was the same table (but clearly not), I was told it was the café and separate from the hotel so I had to pay for breakfast. Not a big deal but they could have explained it better on check in. This is a small hotel, probably the smallest Radisson I have ever stayed in. We took a look at the spa in the basement, there’s a small plunge pool and some machines; for the space they have, they have made a very good effort.
"Shame about the breakfast"
Staff were helpful from the outset. Room was nice and quiet. We were going to use the massage at the spa but it was hugely overpriced at €80 instead we used one in the city for half that. Breakfast was mediocre and basic and at €17.50 was one of the most expensive I have come across. Go outside for breakfast and you will save a fortune and do better.
"Top location for culture and food freaks"
Stayed in Madrid for 4 nights and was recommended this hotel by a friend. Keeping up to its promises, and more! It is located opposite to the city's most famous museum, the "Prado". Not directly on the Paseo de Prado, but around 50 Meters back in a cosy side street, thus not affected by the traffic noise. We had our 7-yr old daughter with us in the room, and although not large, the room held the 3 of us easily, no problem when you spend most of the day outside. We had a large and very comfy kingsize bed, and our daughter a fold-down. no worry about alternatives if you want to venture out to have some native food. You turn left and in a jiffy you are in Plaza St. Ana with loads of taperias. Albeit a bit "touristy", the prices are still a bargain compared to similar placed in Paris (not to talk about New York). We had a cultural trip, thus a visit to Prado, Thyessen Bornemisza and Sofia Reina were a must. All in very short walking distance from the hotel. Friendliness of reception staff was top, they really take their time to answer all our stupid questions...another big applause for the housekeeping department..immaculate. General Manager Stephan is a competent hotelier and runs a top-notch operation. Thanks for a great stay-we'll be back!
