Poor check in, lack of information on facilities, amenities and services. The room was very tired, old furniture resembling the 80' s and a distinct smell of cigarettes in the corridor. Slow service in the lobby and Breakfast. London is a city that can offer much better options for £150.
The Radisson Blu is a nice, average hotel. The staff are all pleasant, without being outstanding, the rooms are nice, and the breakfast is ok. They do not have a business centre, as such, but rather a couple of computers in the lobby that are available to use. Overall, it is a reasonable spot, much cheaper than the Hyatt around the corner, and I would stay again.
"Nice enough hotel but a bit tired"
We arrived at the hotel to a very friendly reception and were pleased to hear we were bumped up to business class room. The room was fine but a little tired - lots if scrapes. However, very comfortable bed. Breakfast was very good with lots of choices. I enjoyed my fruit and cereal and continental bread, cheeses and meats.
"Great Hotel, would recommend and return"
Spent 2 nights at this hotel with my daughter having booked the break through secret escapes. On arrival we were immediately asked by the receptionist if we would like to swop our double room for a twin which we did. The room was ready immediately and we were advised that our complimentary bottle of wine would be moved to our new room shortly, which it was. You need to use your room key to operate the lift which the receptionist hadn't informed us of and another guest had to help us out. It's was a bit of a pain having to use the room key for the lift but nothing major. The room was clean and had complimentary toiletries, hairdrier, iron and ironing board. Breakfast on both days was included and I couldn't really fault it. It was buffet style and there was so much to choose from, and you could have as much of it as you wanted. We didn't eat in the restaurant at any other time so can't comment on what any other meals were like. The staff were all very friendly and helpful especially Abdul (i think) who gave us lots of information on getting around London. Excellent location only about 5-6 minutes walk from Marble Arch tube station and maybe a couple of minutes more to Oxford Street. It's in a relatively quite street and our room was at the front and I didn't notice any street noise at all.
Our stay at the Radisson Bleu Portman was mixed in terms of our customer satisfaction. The hotel room we had was outdated, though comfortable, however, a fruity scent was piped in through the room vent that was annoying and made my husband call the desk to have something done. Of course, nothing could be done. The first day we also found ample lotion and conditioner but no shampoo and had to call down again for that. The restaurant food was very good but the bar was not well equipped. Here we were in London with only two beer choices at the hotel bar. We thought that might be because many hotel guests did not drink at all. On the other hand, the staff was super friendly and helpful with special commendation to the restaurant and valet people. They went out of their way to help us with whatever we needed. In summary, we probably would not choose to stay there next time we're in London.
