"Don't believe the hype"
Hotel, room, beds, facilities, staff, 10/10 Buffet restaurant (there is only one, not two as they claim) the other is privately owned and very expensive. We booked half board with buffet every night, 4 nights during our stay it turned into a menu Del dia, very limited choice and if you only like plain old English food, this menu is not for you. The hotel itself is a bit isolated if you want to stroll, just across the bay from Anfi time share. If you're looking for lively entertainment, go elsewhere, never been to a hotel or resort so completely dead. Restaurant closes 9 pm, no music after, just background music during meal, pool bar open, Manuel sat there till midnight bored stiff. Given 3 stars purely due to the staff and room facilities. This is a decent 3 star hotel, nothing more and my goodness they are certainly missing an opportunity with a couple of hundred people looking to be entertained and drink overlooking the beach. Never had so many early nights on holiday, and for nearly £400 a night (new year) I expected a lot more.
"All the benefits of a hotel but in a huge apartment"
We always like to go to a villa on our summer holidays as we value the independence but I didn't want the hassle of any cooking or cleaning on a Christmas break. We booked one of the three bedroom corner apartments at this hotel and it was brilliant. Absolutely huge apartment with a massive balcony, well finished with a great housekeeping service. The ability to go down to breakfast and order room service meant that we could have all the benefits of our own space with none of the hassle. Bit pricey for one of the 3 bed apartments but highly recommended.
"Relax in sun"
Great contemporary and cosmopolitan hotel, lovely grounds and location, ideal place to relax. We are returning again this year, which is rare for us as we like it being smaller and more intimate than lots of other hotels. Hiccough as we booked direct and so transfers should have been included, but taxi didn't collect us and we had a taxi driver kindly deliver us after we sought his help trying to phone the hotel! Room was fine especially fantastic hot tub in evening listening to live music below! We have to avoid smokers for health reasons and were able to move our sun loungers to do this. Having stayed at many local 4/5 star hotels this is always a major problem. I would love hotels to move to outdoor non smoking areas as I think they would be very popular, or even move to complete non smoking outside too! Would like suites to have flexibility of twin or double beds too. We booked half board last visit and good wax great but BnB this time, as there is a lovely roof top restaurant and lots of local places to eat out.
"very over priced !!!"
very poor value for money. Extra charges for all activities not much for kids. £20 for kids to play tennis for 1 hour ! had to pay an extra £500 for new years eve party charging £75 for a kids 11 years old meal with very average poor to average entertainment. Buffet restaurant was poor value.
"Almost a perfect beach hotel!"
We spent 5 nights at this hotel in mid December and had a wonderful stay. It is a cleverly designed hotel built into the cliff face, which means you go down in the elevator to all the rooms, as opposed to up. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite with the hottub on the balcony which we all loved, particularly when we got to hear the live music from the restaurant while we were relaxing in the tub, watching the sunset - pretty idyllic. The view out to the ocean is amazing and all the rooms have the view which is very nice. Our kids absolutely loved the kids club so a big shout out to all the staff there who made it so much fun for them and gave us a very nice break and some alone time. We found that the staff, from the check-in to the restaurants to the cleaning staff, were all wonderful and had ready smiles for us all - they are clearly used to having kids and cater very well to them. Do visit the spa - I had a wonderful experience there and, again, loved the level of service. The only downside of the hotel for us was the beach - access to the beach involved a little too much concrete (access to both beaches was through a door in a concrete wall, which I realise is probably there for security reasons) and the beaches themselves were not particularly attractive. We ended up staying by the pool and exploring the rest of the island (to go climbing) so the state of the beach didn't affect us too much but it was a downside overall for us. However, saying that, we will be back as we loved the climbing on the island and we will very likely stay at this hotel again, for all the positives mentioned above.
