"Hotel old & very poor maintenence in rooms Water unsafe to drink food ok"
Our Bed was Broken & we had a board under our bed (THIS IS NOT 5 STAR) Air Con did not work properly & you cannot drink the hotel water - we demanded free bottled imported water. Shocked the shower had yellow water coming out of it which was an issue all week, I was advised the pipework was very old going back to when the British Army owned the hotel. The food was ok & staff nice buses our 1.5 Euros & go around the Island which is great. We got a promo timeshate week & Marcolm was nice enough our timeshate salesman we had a nearly 7 hour presentation which started at about £ 37,000 + which magically can down to £17,000 then £950 for another trial accommadation week or £3,250 for 3 Weeks plus yearly maintenence of £560 each year. Basically the hotels old needs a total Refurbishment & is very empty. The hotel is isolated on a public beach & the Local Maltese take the Restaurant over on Sunday & the beach over weekends, Don't be fooled the beach is not private & at night it's very very busy with locals a Scout Camp opposite & nosey & noisey local Teenagers Throwing bottles having BBQ'S & unruly behaviour. AVOID AVOID AVOID !!! It's a Timeshare Con.
"Guess who is back in Malta!!!"
Sorry this is quite a long read, apologies!!! As a birthday present I decided to treat myself to a long weekend in my favourite place MALTA and I really needed the break as I was feeling super-sized stressed!!!! I don't normally go there this time of year as I prefer hotter weather but it was really good. On arrival it was so nice to see the lovely familiar faces of Maria who runs the gift shop in the hotel and I gave her a hug and Rinaldo the porter who always works hard but with a smile on his face. Karolina the receptionist who checked me in was very lovely too and made me feel very welcome. I would like to say a massive thank you to the following people:- Rinaldo - Porter Mickel Vangurchom - Guest Relations Co-ordinator Archie - Therapist in Myoko Spa Henri - Maitre D Flavours Restaurant & Guest Relations Kevin - Flavours Restaurant Gwendoline - Flavours Restaurant Razel - Flavours Restaurant Miriam - Gift shop Reine and Andre - Myoka spa staff Victoria - Myoka spa manager Karolina - Radisson Blu Reception staff Joseph - Maitre D Agliolio restaurant In no particular order extra extra special thanks to Archie, Mickel, Kevin, Gwendoline, Razel, Rinaldo and Henri. I miss them already!!!! :-( When I arrived late morning it was 18 degrees and I felt very very warm in my jeans and jumper but was loving the fact that it was warmer than I thought it would be. I had an issue with the card not working in my room and I thought I was in the wrong tower. Luckily I bumped into a lovely man in a suit by the name of Mickel Vangurchom who worked at the hotel as Guest Relations Co-ordinator. He very kindly helped me get back to the right tower and even used his master key to get me into my room as I had already been down to get my card reactivated once and it meant I didn't need to go back down straight away to activate it again. The room was beautiful with a sea-view and always wonderfully clean plus I had a nice complimentary bottle of red wine and chocolates too, wow it just doesn't get any better than this!!!!! I went down to activate my card when I stopped at the mini-supermarket in the hotel which stocks some gluten-free items from what I think are one of the best gluten-free suppliers "Schar". It's quite a good shop as you can get your normal English frozen bits like pizza and chips( great if you are on a budget!!!), also wine, soft drinks, sun lotion; etc and even DVD's that you can rent out. On Saturday morning when I went down for breakfast I was greeted by 3 more very familiar and friendly faces; the first was Henri the M'aitre D who remembered me from last year. He had a bit of a sore throat but still greeted me very warmly. The second was Kevin who always used to have the biggest smile for me every morning when making my omelette just the way I liked it. I was so pleased to see that he had remembered without me even having to remind him. The third person was Razel the bubbly and beautiful waitress, who gave me such a big hug which was a wonderful welcome and I was happy to see her. In all the years of coming to this hotel I had never experienced Myoka's spa treatments until now. I had an amazing 1 hour back massage called ABHYANGAM to help relieve some muscle spasms in my back and shoulder and the lovely lady who treated me was called Archie; she is so tiny and the loveliest, most relaxing and calm person you could meet, which is just what you need when stressed. Also I just want to say the Myoka spa staff were very nice and pleasant too, especially Reine, Andre and Victoria. I am due to have a reflexology and another massage with Archie on Sunday and really looking forward to it. When I went to dinner on the Friday night the carvery food was fantastic, especially the lamb, absolutely beautiful. I headed to the sun lounger after my massage as mentioned above. It was around 17 degrees at around 10.45am. Dinner on Saturday was fantastic, it was my favourite night Curry night!!!!! The food was fantastic, and guess who saw me and gave me the biggest hug Gwendoline, the bubbliest and wonderfullest waitress I have met, she even remembered my name and asked if my friend Lydia was with me. It was so lovely to see so many lovely welcoming staff on this trip, all of which made my stay even more enjoyable. I ventured down to the smokers sun lounger at 11am (ironically have not seen one smoker, and I am a non-smoker) The weather on Sunday morning was bikini weather at 18 degrees with a slight breeze depending on whether you sat on the sun loungers in the smoking area ( less breezy and more heat) or the sun loungers on the beach (more breezy as obviously closer to the sea). Now you know why I chose smokers sun loungers, for more sun and heat and less breeze. Lol!! On my last day (Sunday) the weather was quite hot at 19 degrees and perfect weather for sitting on the "smokers" lounger where I sat after breakfast and can I just also add I LOVE the beautiful chilled music they play in the background, it's so soothing and makes you really feel like you are relaxing on the beach. Thank you to whoever is in charge of playing the music around the hotel, I love it!!! I had my REFLEXOLOGY session for 25 mins with Archie and it was fantastic. I am quite ticklish on my feet but it didn't tickle. It was so relaxing I think I fell asleep. Later that afternoon I had my last massage called ELAKIZHI for 85 mins and that was absolutely out of this world, again with Archie. Wow this woman is absolutely awesome at what she does. My dinner that evening was at Agliolio restaurant and I have to say that sadly this was the only downside of my holiday. The food tasted very bland and I didn't really think much of the layout or decor. The only saving grace was the really really lovely M'aitre D Joseph who was really lovely and seemed genuinely interested in whether I enjoyed my meal. He felt so bad that I hadn't enjoyed it that he took my drink off the final bill. I think Flavours has the best food as each day is a different theme and the food is always flavoursome. The layout and ambience work really well too. Can I just add that if you are going for your first massage drink LOADS of water before and especially AFTER as the massage will release toxins which may cause you to have some headaches!!!! So all in all this trip set out to achieve its goal, which was to provide me with rest, massage, wonderful weather, very welcoming people, beautiful music and no stress in sight!!! I look forward to returning in Sept or Oct. Radisson Blu you have outdone yourself once again!!!

"The perfect family holiday"
This was not our first time visiting this hotel, we keep going back because we know that its the perfect place to spend quality time with the children away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. The hotel is safe, beautiful, service is fantastic, with restaurants also catering for, for example gluten free diets. The staff are welcoming and extremely helpful and the management extremely professional and helpful. Simply amazing...the perfect place to stay!
"One week holiday"
Lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The sea views are to for for. Mid March temperatures can be warm with a cool breeze. Had lovely days by the pool and beach. Good is good and not too pricey for 5*
