"Good location but be careful with the carpark "
Had two nights here for an exhibition which too place in the hotel. Bedrooms were basic enough, mine was on the 17th floor so views were spectacular. Wifi in the bedroom was appalling, when will these hotels realise that wifi is as important a utility as heating or electricity !!! ;-) Breakfast was good, great variety and quality. Be careful with the carpark - you don't get a ticket on entry but you need to go to a machine as soon as you park. We didn't and in the space of about 15 min got a very expensive parking fine (the guy was hiding behind a pillar, apparently!)
"Nice hotel in Oslo city centre with stunning views over the city"
I live part of the time in Oslo, but needed to stay somewhere for the weekend. I got a good deal on the room on short notice and was happy to be staying in a hotel with a pool. The hotel is by Holbergs plass which is located in an area that's central but relaxed. It's an area I have stayed and worked in before and know it well; I'd recommend the area: nice cafés and bars nearby as well as Litteraturhuset and Kunstnernes hus. Arriving late from a long day at work, I was offered a paid upgrade (next to nothing) by the friendly lady at the desk. The service was quick and efficient, which was good because I was in a hurry. Also regarding service, the day I was set to checkout I decided at the last minute that I'd like a late checkout, which was arranged by telephone within minutes. Because of the room I had, I got a generous checkout time (15:00) and managed to get half a day's work in. The upgrade put me in a newly renovated room on the 20th floor with spectacular views over the city centre. The room was very nice (it looks exactly like the current promo picture Radisson uses) — the decor was tasteful, the furniture comfortable and appropriate for a business room. I had a sofa and chair as well as a desk. The room was a bit small and to be frank, I'd have been disappointed if I had paid full price for the room; as it was, I felt it was good value. The bathroom was nice, but small. I guess water pressure is better on other floors; at the top there, the shower was a bit drizzly for my tastes. The wifi was as I have come to expect in Scandinavia — good. Sleep-wise, the bed was as ever too soft — I like beds like a slab of granite. I'd like to say that I slept badly one night because of noise from the club upstairs — it sounded like they were dragging tables about — but I wouldn't be telling the entire truth. What I should have done was get up and go and party because I wasn't tired enough to sleep. It really wasn't loud enough to keep all but the lightest of sleepers awake. I like to swim and I chose the hotel mainly because of the pool. It's not a huge pool and it's in the cellar, but it's nice and I did some lengths before a quick sauna every day I was there. Everything about the pool/sauna is great except for one small detail: pool was a bit dirty. There's also an exercise room that looks really good with a lot of modern equipment. The breakfast was good except I was late in the serving and things had started to get a bit empty; I missed a few things I expect in a hotel breakfast because of this. Nonetheless I found things I enjoyed and left with a full stomach. Properly fresh orange juice is always a big plus. What I liked best: location, the comfort and the service. What I liked least: dirty pool (please fix this, it spoils something really lovely). I would definitely stay here again.
"Greate view bad internet"
I will go here again. Make sure to ask for a room on a high floor and with sea view. Then it doesn't matter that that the wifi sucks :) The breakfast is really nice with many alternativet of fresh juices and alternatives Good central location
"Dated hotel, ok location, nothing memorable"
Good for short business stay, guess I got the none renovated floor as things in the room where broken and old (closet, bathtub), needs some renovation. Good service, breakfast mediocre. Gym is nice and equipment fairly good as well.
"Worn at the edges"
The location of Radisson is very good as it is in the centre of town and close to the station and with a bus running directly from the airport to outside the hotel. However the hotel itself is very dated and looks a little worn out and in need of an upgrade. I was disappointed with the lack of amenities and general standard of the rooms taking into account the cost. That said, the Summit Bar on Level 21 is a must, giving an amazing view of the city.
