"Let down by dreadful service in the restaurant"
I went here for lunch in January as I work close by. I went to treat myself to a nice lunch in beautiful surroundings. What a disappointment, I had to leave again with no lunch and go back to work hungry, I won't be trying it again. I arrived and was shown to a table in the lounge, I explained that I need to be back to work for 2pm, it was now almost 1.10 and I if I could have the menu I would order quickly. The girl serving said that was ok, and brought me the menu and a glass of water and that was the end of the service, I waited and waited and tried to catch her eye, she was busily putting napkins on plates at the service area and sorting cutlery. She came to a table near me to take an order, I tried to catch her attention to no avail, I also tried to catch the attention of a man who was also serving but it was not use. The girl did at one point know I was looking for her attention but she quickly averted her gaze and continued to set plates, she was clearly going to finish what she was doing before coming to me. It got to 1.30 and I realised I had no chance of placing an order, eating my food and being back at work for 2pm. So disappointing, I told the desk on my way out and they said they would let the restaurant know I wasn't happy but that did not provide me with lunch that day.
"A few minor faults but overall good"
Stayed here recently having booked two double rooms online. Rooms booked together but due to circumstance, both checked into a short while apart. One of the rooms given was a suite, while the other was a standard double (by double, I mean two single beds pushed together and covered with a large sheet and two single duvets!!!) disappointed that two rooms booked together could be different. Otherwise, the staff must be commended on their manner and friendliness! Absolutely superb throughout, from waiting staff to bar staff to cleaning staff, met one of the chefs and he was as polite as they come! Well done on that respect. Breakfast was second to none, absolutely fantastic. A midday checkout and late breakfast times were very much appreciated! Overall, a fantastic hotel, only slightly let down by the room issues!
"Just super "
Cannot recommend more highly. This is a real gem about a 10 minute car journey from the centre of Dublin. The room we had was super and well appointed and with a magnificent view across the gardens. The staff in general could not have been more friendly and helpful - a special mention has to go to the staff at breakfast who could not have been more pleasant. I emailed the hotel to thank them, not expecting a reply, but did receive a lovely email back which just underlined the professionalism of the staff. I would thoroughly recommend.
"Good Hotel, let down by service"
Good hotel but he service let it down, poor check in experience at reception The room was nice and pleasant. Nice hotel grounds. Service wasn't friendly here for so,emstrange reason Breakfast and coffee was fine The location was a little out if you want to be in centre of Dublin Would I stay again, probably not. Purely down to service
"Attractive hotel integrating a period property in a quiet location"
The hotel incorporates a period building, making the reception rooms and the orangery café very attractive and grand. The room tract is modern is the rooms have all the expected facilities. Figuring out the relevance of the room names was a parlour game in its own right - "Talavera" made sense, even though it was an Italian restaurant, but "Lepanto" stumped me. We took advantage of a down-season special to stay here, and for that, it was definitely worth it.
