"Wonderful 3 days in Siem Reap"
We have recently returned from Thailand and Cambodia where we enjoyed a wonderful vacation. One of the best aspects of the trip was our stay at the Grand Hotel d'Angkor in Siem Reap. A colonial style hotel with all the charm and hospitality one would expect updated to 21st century features and comfort. The hotel facilites are first class. The pool area is very large and welcoming. The bar serves excellent cocktails and the two restaurants are excellent. I highly recommend this hotel and I am certain that we will be returning
"beautiful historic hotel with excellent service"
Our stay at Raffles Grand Hotel made our amazing trip to Cambodia even more spectacular. The hotel is gorgeous and the staff is friendly, warm, and very accommodating. The breakfast is fantastic. The pool is relaxing and refreshing. The colonial style of the hotel is intact throughout. We stayed in the old wing of the hotel and were impressed at how beautifully preserved the hotel is. We didn't want to leave. We fell in love with Siem Reap, due in part to our perfect stay at Raffles.
"First rate old world service and accomodations"
My wife and I stayed at the Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor for 4 nights in August 2016. We stayed in one of the Landmark rooms. It had its own balcony overlooking the 30 meter swimming pool. It is truly an oasis in this very hot part of S.E. Asia. Wonderful colonial luxury combined with first class service. We used the hotel's concierge to provide us with a private car and guide to take us to the various Angkor temples. Each time we returned to the car we were greeted with ice cold towels and ice cold water to remain hydrated. Service is impeccable. Breakfast is in the Cafe d'Angkor, light and airy space serving a Veuve Clicquot champagne breakfast.. lots of choice of food from western to Asian dishes. Our room rate included the breakfast. It is well worth including the breakfast. The entire hotel staff was so nice. They knew our names after the first time meeting them. The Elephant Bar and the Conservatory are wonderful old world spaces to relax after a sweltering day of temple visits. Room staff is excellent too, as were all of the restaurant's staff. Definitely would stay there again and again.
"Old charm with great service ..."
Amazing service. Stunning property. Delicious breakfast. and the perfect location. Relaxing pool area full of colonial charm. Personally ... the pillow selection and bed I found very uncomfortable - and the spa could do with some of the finer touches. All in all though a great enjoyable stay.
"Our 5th visit and as wonderful as ever"
We love this hotel so much that we keep coming back; it's become an annual treat. The attention to detail and charm of this Raffles is exceptional. The staff are lovely and the service superb with the warmth more usually experienced in a boutique hotel. The luxurious experience starts with complimentary Mumm champagne offered with breakfast through to the full evening room service and the accomplished pianist playing in the beautifully restored lounge in the evenings. And my husband ..a dedicated swimmer ..loves the huge pool. This time we tried a room in the newer wing ...cleverly designed to give great space ..walk in wardrobe, separate spacious desk area etc ... but after 1 night scooted back to our favourite ..a Personality Suite in the old wing, with it's lovely traditional, historical feel. We were very pleased to find that some new, very upscale restaurants have opened in Siem Reap in the past year or so. Sophisticated ambience with good wine lists and still only $20 or so for 3 delicious courses. We again went in Aug/Sept. It's the low season so the temples and town are not crowded. The weather is perfect at this time of year. It's the rainy season which means there's usually an hour or so of heavy tropical rain each day which refreshes everything and makes this the 'green season' when the countryside is at its prettiest. The rest of the day there're some hours of light cloud ...a little bit cooler for sightseeing ..and plenty of hours of hot sun for time at the pool. Raffles and Siem Reap..a perfect combination. Thank you ... see you again next year!!
