Great hotel, would stay again next time I visit Amsterdam. Only the menu for lunch and dinner was small.Comment of K. Sylvia , Belgium the 2016-07-18
The hotel rooms themselves are premier inn style,a bit overpriced for what you get,£110 per night for bed only,,with breakfast at a cost of£18.50 per person if you decide to have one,yet there is an amazing choice, there is an extra cost of £100 deposit plus 5%on top of your bill which you dont expect for city tax but this applies for all accomodation in amsterdam.drinks in the hotel are very expensive £4 for half lager,on arrival our room had no cups or milk in our room so we had to use plastic cups from the bathroom, but when we told the young lad on reception the next day he sorted it out very promptly, the staff are very good and freindly, would i stay again' No,as it is too far from the town, and not good value for money, sorry.
"DO NOT KEEP ITEMS IN THE ROOM SAFE!! BEWARE CLEANERS"
Firstly i must state that the Hotel is very nice in a very good location and nice and quiet. However on the final morning of our stay (yesterday) when i had to go into the safe i realised it was not opening with the code and the safe was not securely shut. When putting 2 and 2 together i firmly believe 1 or maybe 2 of the cleaners were involved in a theft. On Saturday mid morning the cleaner came to our room and i advised the cleaner we were going out later and to come back. He then stated how long 1 or 2 hours which i thought was a bit strange. All he needed to say was ok i will come back later. We then carried on with our day thinking nothing more. We then arrived back at the hotel at about 8pm and again we did need to go into the safe so just relaxed in room and went to bed. However i did notice that the cleaner had entered the room but the floor was not hoovered and the bed was not made properly just put the quilt on top of the bed and did not do the undersheet which leads me to believe they were in a rush. Only when i needed to go to the safe in the morning after breakfast did i notice the safe had been pushed out of place. It is normally stuck to the wardbrobe. I then looked on the floor and could also see wood chippings from the wardborb. At this point i asked my wife if she had been into the safe because i could not open it with the code. I then knew the safe had been broken into even though they opened it by force and then shut it again. There were marks on the side of the safe door and the door was not secure because you could push it a bit when before it was fully secure. At this point we called down to reception and a man called Tom came to the room to look at the issue. He then called the Security man called Dick who came up within a couple of minutes. Dick then confirmed that the safe had been broken into and then we started to worry that our passports were also gone. Dick then advised that if we were to call the police they would take ages to turn up and we were due to fly within the next couple of hours. He then forcefully opened the safe with tools and thank god our passports and my wife's wedding rings were still in the safe but our money was gone. We had about £100 - £150 in English notes taken from the safe. Dick and Tom were really helpful but that did not really help us and at no point did we feel like we were going to get our money back. However at that point we were just happy they did not take our passports otherwise we would not have been back home yet!! We always read reviews on hotels before going abroad and we are always the ones saying this will never happen to us and the safe will be secure and why would anyone want to do this to someone and spoil someones holiday. Well we can now safely say we are victims of a theft. Please be aware if you stay there and even though we have no proof the actions of the cleaners left us very cautious of them especially when a lady tried to enter our room at 5.50am and then as i shouted she left the room and i could not get up quick enough to see who it was. PLEASE DO NOT KEEP ITEMS IN THE SAFE UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR HOLIDAY RUINED!!
The hotel location is very good, Staff very friendly and helpful, A bit pricey but very clean and very good furnitures. Rooms have nice view over the city and the nice huge park beside the hotel. There is kettle, tea, and cafe for free in the room and sofa as well.
"Splendid panoramic view of the entire city..."
This 17-storey hotel offers the most splendid panoramic views of Amsterdam from its rooftop. It is located in a quiet neighborhood next to Rembrandtpark. However, the city center (Dam/Centraal) is only a 10-15 minutes' ride (tram 13). It's a standard 4-star hotel, with all its expected facilities and comfort. We were accommodated in the 16th floor, as per our request, with a staggering view of the entire city from our room. Furthermore, our breakfast was made complimentary during our entire stay -- a rare gesture well-appreciated.
"For the second time, perfect !"
It was the second time we came here in Ramada Apollo Amsterdam, the stay was awesome. The staff is very kind and helpful they will answer to all your questions. We had a room at the 16th floor with a nice view over the park and a part of the city, very nice and quiet room cleaned every day. We will recommend this hotel for sure ! Some tips : -The shuttle from the airport to the hotel is free. -Tram stop is 1 min walk from the hotel (Tram stop name : Admiraal Helfrichstraat). -10-15 minutes to the city center by tram. (Dam, Centraal Station).
