"amazing hotel and service-location breautiful"
should be no1 choice if in Salford Quays- there s nothing comparable- a few tram stops from city center. the design and the staff are great, all looks brand new and fresh. the tapas concept for food is amazing- what a great concept from Marriott- def want to try more of these AC properties.
"A Sunny Spot In Manchester"
We stayed at this hotel for three nights in the week before Christmas. The Salford location is convenient, not in downtown but with very easy access via MetroLink (either MediaCityUK or Eccles line will do). We arrived by train at the Piccadilly and we switched to the MetroLink tram at the station. You may find buying a family tram pass could be more economic if that fits your itinerary. After getting off at the Salford Quays station, the hotel is just across a parking lot and a road with dividers. If you're approaching from the southbound at the road crossing, you may not see the AC hotel sign. But as long as you see the IBIS hotel, this one is just next door. Our room was facing away from the street and quiet enough at night. It's also clean and decent in its size. The interior decor is neutral and the linens are clean and comfortable. The hotel breakfast choice is good and the staff there are warm and welcoming. Upon our check-in, there was a mistake made by the reception desk, but the hotel staff addressed it very quickly at our request. There is also a computer you can use in the lobby area. For dinning out nearby without taking tram, there are only a few limited choices (about 3~4) directly in front of the hotel (in the parking lot across the road). They're OK if you're only staying for a few nights. St. Peter's Square is the stop we usually got off from the tram. From there, it was a quick walk to the city hall, the cathedral, the John Rylands library, the Art Gallery, etc. Manchester city center is not large, very manageable on foot. The Altrincham market is also reachable by the tram line B (Altrincham), but be sure to check its opening hours in advance. Overall we're satisfied with our stay. The hotel staff are very accommodating. We will have no problems in staying at this hotel again if we want to be close to the MediaCityUK area.
"Recently upgraded hotel near Old Trafford "
Switching from being a Ramada to the AC / Marriott brand this hotel has undergone a serious rennovation Rooms while still basic in features are much improved and there is a gym (apparently). The bar and dining area has also been remodelled The food is excellent - we had chicken sandwich, steak, salmon during our stay and all were very tasty Only downside is service is the restaurant is terribly slow. Maybe it's a match day issue but it's almost impossible to get attention of the harried waiters to order or get the next course or a bill. This is an easy fix the hotel should make Overall two thumbs up especially on game days.....
Spent three days in Manchester on tour with Chevrolet while watching United v Liverpool. The hotel was a great hub to stay. Easy to get to football stadium, pop onto the Tram and get in and out of Manchester. Th staff are very friendly and professional. The rooms are comfortable and makes for a great nights rest PLUS the breakfast buffet is spectacular.
Having stayed a number of times since the rebranding to AC hotels it's been fine. However on my visit today, I first rang to attempt to secure a place in the hotel car park. Having a brand new high value vechile I preferred to not park in the public park across the road. I was informed if I arrived by 1900 I would get in fine, but they would not reserve a space. I set off early and got to the hotel at 1800 but the parking was full. On checkin which I had done by "mobile" I was told I wasn't booked tonight but tomorrow. I showed the agent the confirmation on my mobile app but she said it was wrong. They found me a room, but felt stressed by the experience. It's not my fault that the system is wrong I have a full confirmation. I stay in a lot of Marriotts and although I'm only a silver member it's only just ! I was told a silver member has no status. I'm looking for a new chain to put my 25 nights a year with
