My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and were blown away by the amazing service! The bell staff, front desk, waiters, bartenders, coffee shop, and house-keeping were all great. Above all, the security department was life saving. My husband and I left a few items behind and they graciously held on to them for us and shipped them back to us. I was blown away with how prompt and professional they were with returning my call. We will definitely be making our way back here often!
"Nice grounds, dated rooms, poor service"
This hotel seems to be more set up for golfers (the course is beautiful). The public spaces and the outdoor grounds (gardens, fountains etc) are very nice. Lots of indoor and outdoor fire places and pits. But that was the high point of my visit. The complex is comprised of multiple buildings for the rooms. Ask for a building next to the main lobby or it will be a bit of a walk every time. I had a room on the second floor. No elevator so lugging heavy bags upstairs wasn't fun. Checkin process was ok. My original room requested was not available (it was about noon) so I got a different one. The rooms need updating. The only modern thing was the TV. The other furniture was older. Walls have that dated textured plaster look - felt cheap and motel-like. Bathroom had been updated probably recently, but little things like a faucet handle that was broken, and the hardware around the shower head was falling off made it feel dumpy. The maid was inconsistent on replacing toiletries - on second day, she didn't even replace shower gel or shampoo (again, this made it feel like the hotel was being cheap). Plenty of towels however. Bed comfort was ok/average. I've had better at other "resorts." There were two free bottles of water daily and a large empty refrigerator. Large safe was included inside the desk area. Air conditioner was powerful and worked well during day - but it is driven by one of those motion detectors so while sleeping the room got very warm. Wifi was a little erratic and slow. But it is free/included in room. No resort fees charged that I was aware of. Housekeeping did not clean rooms on a timely basis. It took them all day to get to my room even while I was in meetings all day. Annoying! It took multiple calls to get it done. Front desk staff was fairly unhelpful. When askin about potions to take me to the airport, there were a lot of 'I'm not sure' or ' I don't know' and not much offered by way of suggestions. That's unacceptable. It's almost like the young women working the desk hated being there or I was bothering them them asking questions. There was no concierge that I could see. Service was definitely with an attitude, if you can even call it service. Definitely a hotel to cross off the list - I won't be back.
"First Time Visit"
Everyone at the resort was friendly, from the front desk, the operators, restaurant staff, and concierge! I also love that the resort is pet friendly; they were so welcoming to my puppy and I! The restaurants, bar, cafe are all great places to grab a bite or drink. The only regret I have was not ordering in-room dining.
"Great Conference Hotel for a small group"
I attended a conference here for a small group of 30 people plus spouses etc. The room was clean and well appointed. The food provided for our group dinner and reception was outstanding, much better than many places I've been. While this is an older property, it is well maintained and that is what makes it so charming. I asked someone what the flowering tree was outside of my room, and Jose (from the engineering dept) actually took the time to find out what it was and return with a printout for me. Service was GREAT!
"Last minute get away"
Booked flight and hotel last minute on Priceline for our 24th wedding anniversary. We arrived about 7pm. Front desk attendant was polite, and we'll trained. So we'll trained her speech and responses were by the book. She didn't really engage us. Even when we said it was our first time visiting she just said "welcome" and placed a paper on the desk with three circles for me to initial. Just thought she could have been a bit warmer. (As expected no mention of the Resort fee, which was expected). One it me we did not receive which was described on the web site under FAQ was the complimentary bottle of wine. Perks - Complimentary Bottle of House Wine - 10% Discount on Retail Purchases at Resort Shops, Spa Boutique, Café Granada We also filled out the plan your expeience form but was never contacted as promised. " An experienced concierge consultant will contact you to confirm availability and finalize your itinerary." I hope these were oversights and not because the rate plan was listed as PRICELINE. Room was comfortable, clean, and had a nice little patio. We were at the back of the property. It would have been nice to be told there was a parking lot right out side our door instead of having to walk the property in the dark with our bag. Beds were adequate (we ended up with two queen size beds) each had 2 firm and 2 soft pillows. Person above us had a heavy step, we could hear almost every step for two of the days we were here. We could also hear each and every time they flushed the toilet. All things said, it wasn't a horrible stay but there were enough little things to warrant a 4 star instead of a 5.
