"RUDE staff, False advertising,"
Don't plan on staying here unless you want to waste your money. I booked a family fun package for October. My kids were so excited to stay in tents in the room and have milk and cookies upon arrival and roast smores at the fire pit. Milk and cookies were not in room (didn't bother to deliver until about 8:00 pm). The tents were not set up in our room. I had to call housekeeping to deliver. Once delivered they were filthy! Leaves and dirt inside and the sleeping bag was all torn up. Dinner was lousy at Veranda. Horrible service. My kids were so excited to sit by the fire pit and roast smores. The fire pit was not lit. I asked three times for them to have someone light it. The thing never got LIT!!! So disappointed! We waited over an hour for someone to come over and light. We finally had to search for a fire pit but settled on a fire PLACE outside in some remote area! I explained my concerns with the woman who checked us out and she didn't care. Her reply was "Oh, I'm sorry. I hate when guests aren't satisfied..." OK' She didn't even try to make it right. Never will I come back here.
I loved my stay. Unfortunately, I bought coffee and pastry from the coffee shop, tipped them had it charged to my room. The bill was $8 and the employees added a $10 tip. I've called the management, left several messages and no return phone call. I asked for them to send me a bill when I checked out, and nothing. Had to contact them several times and then I get a bill with added tip I did not give. DO NOT TRUST the staff and double check your bill would sum up my experience.
"Great place for a getaway"
Gorgeous hotel with lots of character. The grounds are so serene and well looked after. Rooms could do with a little upgrading but were still nice and comfortable. We came with our 3 year old and requested for a room by the family pool, which was great. Front desk could definitely be provided with more training. I had called a week before to request a crib and had asked if they had other options since my friend had said they had tents for kids. They said the only option was a crib or pack and play and never have other options. In another instance, I had asked if we needed reservations for the Avant restaurant on site for Saturday night and the front desk said that we usually never need reservations on Friday and sat nights. I had asked the same question at check in. When we went to the happy hour at Avant, they said it was almost impossible to get in without reservations. We did get lucky and were able to get in at 9pm. Also, the front desk was clueless about promotions that they had advertised at the front desk for activities. Other than that the place is gorgeous and we will definitely come back!
"Needs some improvements"
The place is beautiful but needs some improvements. Most of my travel is overseas so not sure if this is how hotels are in the US. 1. There was no water in the room. The room phone wouldn't work so called the front desk using my cellphone and asked for water at 11 PM. The person manning the phone asked if I could wait till the morning. Seriously'! 2. All decent hotels overseas provide room slippers which I wish were provided. 3. Breakfast scrambled eggs tasted like they came out of a carton. For the price could have used regular eggs. Unless I am totally wrong which I doubt. 4. Bathroom sink could use a soap dish. Feels weird placing soap on the counter.
"Beautiful time "
Our weekend stay at the RB Inn was so amazing. The grounds and rooms were gorgeous. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The food was so amazing. Sitting out on the Veranda at sunset !!! You must try the white pizza and desserts ! Even the coffee was amazing.
