This was my first visit to Rancho Bernardo Inn and I was not disappointed. The grounds were beautiful, the staff was friendly and accommodating and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Even though it was rainy and cold during our visit, my kids were able to swim in the heated pool and roast marshmallows over the fire pit at the pool. The food was great and I never felt the need to leave the grounds- all my needs were met there. The restaurant food was delicious and reasonably priced too. The hotel was decorated for Christmas which meant an endless array of Christmas trees everywhere you turned. And they were decorated beautifully. My family and I will definitely come back.
"Great Hotel with great service"
Room 701 on the Golf Course. You can walk out to the course. Right on the 10th Tee and overlooking the 18th green. Wonderful golf course with multiple tees for every skill level. Get the golf package worth the money. Has a Starbucks right off the Lobby and great Sports bar downstairs
"A quiet getaway"
Our first stay at the Inn. My wife had selected it as a surprise birthday getaway. The decor is rustic with a couple of real wood fireplaces located in the lobby are. We were escorted to our room by one of the bellman who pointed out the pool area and the beautiful manicured grounds. Our room was spacious and clean with a nice patio. The king size bed was comfortable. A spacious bathroom with a shower and two sinks and all the amenities. The staff even had a bottle of champagne delivered to our room as a birthday gift.We dined both nights at the Avant restaurant on site which was excellent. The only negative we experience was room service on Sunday morning. We were told it would be at least an hour and we were welcome to dine in the Veranda room which should have been a clue. It actually took two hours to receive our food and the quality was less than expected. Judging from the number of wedding ceremonies that occurred on the day of our arrival it is obvious this is a popular wedding venue.
This is a great resort in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the San Diego area. Tucked amongst the rolling hills of the area, the resort facilities are expansive. Since the resort has a longer history to it, it looks like a typical Californian resort hotel. Lots of mature trees everywhere in the public areas. The rooms, however, are up to date. They have comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. Fairly quiet, but, since the resort is a popular wedding site, it is fairly busy. We seemed to have heavy footed people in the room above us the whole stay. Restaurants and bars are pretty good, considering that they have a captive audience. All of the staff we encountered during our stay were cheerful and ready to help.
I was there for a conference, other than the overly load HVAC, the worn out bed and the shower that did not put out consistent hot water things were great. Staff is helpful and pleasant . The staff is responsive to the client and they have a nice concierge text messaging system.
