Great hotel except for the renovation work being carried out. Staff are friendly and our room is large and comfortable. Everywhere you find lovely plants and it is very clean. Just had a massage at the hotel was the best I have had. Thank you Kornkiwa.👍
This hotel was very nice and had a boutiquey feel to it. It is located on the other side of the river outside of town, but has great access to the town and night bazaar. We loved the free welcome coconut drink and took advantage of the free daily yoga... the instructor was the sweetest! The room was basic but has everything you need and is clean. The pool was cold, but there are therapeutic hot pools that you can take advantage of if you utilize the spa at any point. Would definitely recommend staying here!
I don't understand the mediocre or negative reviews. Yes, the staff are not as fluent in English as in other hotels I've stayed with in Thailand. But, that should not be interpreted as unfriendly or unhelpful. They try very hard to help despite the language difficulties. Everyone is gracious and polite and exhibit warmth and hospitality. The grounds are beautiful. The room is serene, well appointed and spotless. The pool is beautiful and while it does have limited seating, I never see it full. If you want sun and pool maybe a beach resort is more to your needs and liking. Oh and the tv has limited english speaking channels and programming. But folks, you are in Thailand! Not the US, UK, Or any other English-speaking country. Have you been to another country in Asia' Eastern Europe' Same same. Load up your iPad. Wireless works but maybe not as effectively as it does back home. But if you need a business hotel stay at one of the more traditional western ones. If you are on vacation, stop griping that it's not like your home country - it's not supposed to be! Appreciate the beauty and being in lovely Chiang Mai. Oh and one reviewer actually complained that his do not Do not disturb sign prevented service to the room (which is the whole point) and he didn't get his daily water bottles. Ummm....thus isn't he hotel's fault. Water is cheaper here in Thailand than any other country I've seen and much cheaper than the US. Spend the 15-30 thb and buy some water. Small price to pay for getting the privacy you asked for. I have no reservations recommending this hotel. If I come back I would stay here again! Easy walk to night market and plenty to eat around.
"Luxury by the river"
My 11-year-old son and I stayed here for one night after 3 nights in medium to low level hotels. It was nice to have a range of experiences in Chiang Mai but RarinJinda takes the cake. The staff were warm and welcoming. We loved the coconut welcome drink. The pool area was our favourite place to be. It was clean and quiet; we were the only ones in at the time. The room was gorgeous with a large bathroom with shower and bath tub that opened up to overlook the bedroom. Unfortunately, I did not use the spa but I did take advantage of the complimentary yoga class. This is a must for all levels. Luck, the yoga teacher was amazing. She tailored the class to my health and wellness (I was the only student). After a long night with sinus issues, she was a send from heaven! If you're looking for luxury accommodation in Chiang Mai,RarinJinda is the place to find it.
"Not bad, could have been better.."
This was our first time visiting Thailand. The hotel grounds were nice. The rooms were clean. The hotel restaurant was across the street, which was interesting. I found the food to be subpar. There are not a lot of lounge chairs at the pool (maybe 10'). There are some ground level rooms located directly around the pool with private decks and lounge chairs so that leaves one side (out of four sides of the pool) free for everyone else. We found that a couple times during our stay there were no available chairs. Aside from the hotel food being a let down, I was also disappointed by the staff. They were not very welcoming or forthcoming with information. The location was decent. It's a very close walk to a cute cafe and across the street from a coffee shop. About 15-20 mins walk to get into the Old town.
