"Lunch on the Mira terrace"
My wife and I along with 2 friends enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon over lunch here. They offer a few promotions which in my opinion aren't well enough advertised, perhaps post on facebook' Thai set lunch which there were 2 options. Set A, som tum (papaya salad with shrimps), chicken & coconut soup, tiger prawn in red curry sauce with steamed rice, dessert of mango with sticky rice & coconut ice cream. Set B, crab spring rolls, spicy seafood soup, pan seared salmon in red curry sauce with steamed rice, dessert of longan in cream with fresh fruit. All beautifully presented in wonderful surroundings. This is a top hotel with beautiful wood detail, next to the river. The cost of 390bt ++ is terrific value. We will return again very soon. (check their website for offers)
Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights as part of travel group This hotel was fantastic starting with my bedroom it was luxury my bath was huge and the bathroom asks had a TV and a marvellous water feature outside window in bathroom The meal we had on arrival was the best meal I had in Thailand I also ate dinner that evening overlooking the swimming pool Breakfast was also excellent many many choices

"True 5 Star"
From the moment you enter the building you feel the beauty of the traditional Northern Thailand LANNA culture. The wood work, art, sculpture, attention to detail -- it's all here. Now you are really in Chiang Mai and you will not easily be confused. We upgraded to a suite for a few days, well worth the extra money. It is spacious, well laid out, furniture is highest quality and LANNA design, teak wood is abundant and well carved and finished. It seems like every detail has been considered, even the balcony is very inviting. We will be here for several more days and then we return after a trip to Mandalay. This will be my new favorite in CM. Note the 25 meter swimming pool -- no problem swimming laps. Dining is on a gorgeous terrace overlooking the river if you wish to stay in for breakfast or dinner. And service has been excellent -- the front desk was particularly helpful with our booking. Note that I say the pricing is luxury, but actually the value is superior -- you can easily pay more and get a lot less at other properties in CM, especially during high season.
My husband and I just spent four glorious nights at The Ratilanna. Its about ten minutes from the airport which is always nice. Aside from that, its an easy cab ride into town, After seeing the city center, we were very happy to be on the river's edge tucked close to but not inside the city center. Actually, there are plenty of interesting little gems all around the area of the hotel within walking distance. We loved the coffee shop right next door and the interesting little flea market a few doors down. The hotel itself is a gorgeous property. Although we did not stay in the fanciest room there, our room felt like a palatial room fit for royalty. The staff made us feel like royalty. I cannot say enough about the staff. Our room was 604 a top floor room. The huge outdoor chaise lounge is the most comfortable outdoor furniture I have ever laid on. The rooms smell like tropical flowers and nothing is left to chance. The slippers, the robes, & the bed are heaven. I am very picky about the softness of the beds. I can safely say I have never slept better in any hotel! If the room was any nicer I may have never left the hotel. As for the breakfast and the food at the hotel I was very happy with the food. Amazing breakfast! Wonderful food from the quality of ingredients to the dishes themselves, and the staff who cooked and served them. Asian dishes, European fare, pastries, fresh fruits, and everything else in between. I was happy. We ordered room service twice and also enjoyed the well priced lunch on the covered area next to the pool. Giant river prawns in a red curry, appetizers, and a big fresh young coconut drink were wonderful. There are tons of vegetarian Thai dishes if you fancy that as well. We loved the mocktail drinks on the menu too, The Mango & sticky rice is included with lunch. The pool is a salt water pool and is wonderfully maintained. Bigger in person and has a very welcoming atmosphere. Towels are offered poolside. We also enjoyed various spa treatments. While they are more expensive than the normal massage places in town, its nice to be pampered and be close to your room to enjoy the benefits. We loved the facials with the German skincare products. The massage was also wonderful. Beautiful spa with fantastic attentive staff. At night the piano plays beautiful music you can hear if you are out on your balcony. We loved the romantic ambiance. We use the concierge service to recommend an authentic Thai restaurant and she wrote everything in Thai so we could order our food. Great experience and an easy cab ride there. Thanks Nee! Mam the woman at front desk was very helpful along with Mr. Banks, Neung , and our adorable maid Kwan. We really were treated like rockstars there and it was a magical memorable experience! Thank you Ratilanna!
