"Modern and Nice"
A reasonably priced hotel in the center of Rome and just across the Tiber from the Vatican. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff are attentive and nice. There is also good little restaurant and terrace on the roof for a break from the bustle of the city.
My Fiance and I checked in and the staff was very helpful and kind. Our room was very clean and had a funky design. The room however was very small for us. Not to much room to move around. It is in a fantastic location- walking distance to most everything. Coffee was provided in the room and we had a nice window looking out towards the front. Overall we had a pleasant evening. Thank you!
"Had not been to Rome in 20 yrs..."
... And this Hotel made the return amazing. January weather apart, the hotel was located in an absolutely great location. 5 mins away from Castel Sant'Angelo, Piazza Navona, 30 mins to Vatican City and Colosseum (all while walking through lovely streets, and eating pizza like there is no tomorrow). Apart from the location, the hotel staff was great, we even got upgraded to a Jr. Suite at no extra cost. Check-in time was not until 2 or 3 pm, but we arrived right around 10am and the room was ready (probably the season). The breakfast was excellent and included in our price. All in all we had a wonderful stay, would stay here and recommend any day.
"Great warm service but some improvement areas"
My husband and I celebrated my birthday over the weekend and spent 3 nights in Relais Orso. Overall, we felt happy with our choice of hotel but there were many improvement points undeniably. We got a junior suite if I'm not wrong, on the 3rd floor facing the street. Positives: - Super nice staff throughout our stay, especially the reception but also the waitress at Breakfast and everyone else we met. Truly felt welcomed by their warm hospitality. - Breakfast came with our room rate and although not out of this world, sufficient and a good enough variety and quality. - Our room was fairly large for such a small boutique hotel and had a standalone bath tub in the room itself which we didn't use but found to be a cute design touch. - Good location, not too difficult to find and surrounded by good restaurants. Rome is a very walkable city and we found ourselves walking almost everywhere from and to our hotel Negatives - Walls are paper thin! Can hear the neighbor watching television. :( we were lucky the room next door was empty for he first 2 nights but on our final morning we were woken by tv noises next door. - Streets are super noisy on weekend nights with partying sounds till late. :(( noise travels in an alley the hotel faces so we were disturbed particularly on Friday night. Not sure if other non street facing rooms have the same issue. - Shower doesn't drain properly, or at least takes forever to drain. So one can forget about a long leisurely bath as there is a real risk of flooding the toilet and room!
Boutique style and pleasantly small, this is a great hotel. Lovely breakfast to start the day, bijou but well appointed room and extremely helpful staff. Fabulous location to visit all of the wonderful sights which this city boasts -all walking distance. We had an excellent time and really enjoyed our stay.
