Super Pleasantly Surprised. Great location and wonderful staff!Comment of R. Nadege , United States the 2014-05-12
This is a great spot if you're looking for a boutique hotel in a perfect location. I loved the fact that we could walk just about anywhere. The rooms are small, but cute and clean. There are no amenities to speak of in the bathrooms and the breakfast buffet was sparse but the front desk was helpful and their restaurant recommendations were spot on. This isn't a place that you would soend much time hanging out in your hotel but it does it's job very well at a great price.
"Great staff but room needed work"
We stayed here for 3 nights and had a few issues. The hotel is very quaint and the staff was helpful and polite. Our room was dark with one light that didn't work. The shower head was broken, top of the doorframe to the bathroom was broken too. The wifi was very weak connection which wasn't a major issue as the wifi in the lobby and breakfast area was better. We made a few requests to the staff to change rooms and they were very helpful. I know this is a little expected when travelling to such an old historic city but for the price we paid, I think it could have been nicer.
"Great hotel for short Rome stay"
Old building in quiet alley but interior greatly refurbished. Room was quite small but ok for a short stay (3 nights in our instance). Very clean and well maintained. Staff are very helpful and friendly. They provided a lot of information about the area, good restaurants, and how to locate the main tourist sites. The hotel is located in easy walking distance of all the major attractions - Trevi fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Vatican and St Peters - plus many other interesting sights & piazzas just from walking in the area. There are also numerous restaurants very near the hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone having a short stay in Rome.
"Superb Location, comfortable, clean & cosy"
This hotel was in an excellent location, in walking distance to all great landmarks. A little unusual / quirky, a nice hotel, very clean and nice staff. Beds comfy and room had TV, tea & coffee facilities in room. Breakfast was continental and nice comfortable dining area. We had an upgrade to deluxe room but the rooms are not very big at all, no space in bathroom to put toiletries in there and step out shower into toilet almost. Not much room for suitcases/clothes but we managed as at the end of the day it was cosy. Roof terrace, I was so looking forward to relaxing by/in pool/Jacuzzi but this was empty and no chairs or tables set out to relax in sun. Would have been nice to have outside space to relax with cuppa or drink as weather was lovey.
"Not the posh design hotel it wants to be"
It's definetely not the posh design hotel it pretends to be. The "design" stuff is of poor quality, and much of it is really shabby beyond the "shabby look". The first room we had, had only one very small window, so it was dark and could not be aired. It smelled moldy and the bathroom was full of mold spots. Also, there was a humming sound from the fuse box. The staff couldn't offer another room for the first night. The other room was alright, but small (especially the shower hardly usable for a 192cm/6'3" person), still with mold spots, and noisy with thin walls. Still, the hotel is nicely located, the staff is friendly, and the breakfast is okay. If they weren't boosting expectations with pricing (and with advertising this as a 4* hotel, although not certified), this would be an average hotel.
