"Modern, clean, and well decorated."
I was really impressed with all aspects of my stay at the Relaxa. As a frequent visitor to Munich and as a big fan of staying in the center near the main train station, I can say this hotel didn't disappoint. For starts the hotel is modern and nicely appointed both in the lobby and the rooms. To me it's the smaller items like the cleanliness and upkeep of hallways and elevators. The relaxa was immaculate. Even though I checked in early and my room wasn't ready, upon return later on the evening my bag had been brought to my room. That gesture or action was thoughtful. My room on the third floor featured great (free) wifi, a safe ( I love that), a rainforest shower head, and windows that blocked out the street noise below. The fit and decor of the room was chic and comfortable. Even though Munich is certainly a city where even a rainy and damp day doesn't mean one is confined to the hotel, the room was cozy and would have been a relaxing place to curl up with a book. The city center near the main train station is in my opinion the premier locale in Munich for simple logistical convenience. That said, the Relaxa is about a five minute walk from the south exit of thd main train station. There are a plethora of eateries nearby. I recommend a quick walk under the train tracks on the underpass to the iconic Augustinerkeller. All in all the high quality level of this hotel, associated with great pricing, and it's central location make the Relaxa a winner in my book.
"Room service knocking your door every morning"
Staying in this hotel was such a big disappointment. The room was lovely but there was no 'do not disturb sign' so every morning the room service woke us up. The neighborhood was quiet scary, with bunch of people on every single corner - not romantic as we hoped. Was just a bad choice to stay here. The receptionist and staff were so unfriendly and rude that we are even thinking to never come back to Munich again!
"Lovely room, such a shame about the service from the Sales Manager (Catalina Daniela Istrate)"
My girlfriend and I decided to book a nights accommodation at this hotel to break up the long drive we had from the Italian Alps back to the Czech Republic. Upon arriving at the hotel, we parked our car outside the hotel on the opposite side of the street, and went into the hotel to ask what the situation was with parking in the area, as we were both totally unaware if the hotel even had a carpark for its guests. We were then immediately told that the hotel did have a carpark, and that if we simply parked the car outside the hotel, that one of their staff would take the car downstairs to the underground carpark. At no point, was it ever mentioned, that this was not a complimentary service, and it was only at the point that we checked out of the hotel, that we were informed to our amazement, that there was a €28 per night charge for the parking. When I decided to take this up with the staff at the front desk, I found them to be incredibly hostile, and they told me that it was my responsibility to ask them if there was any charge for the car park, rather than them telling me that there was a not in considerable nightly charge to use the car park. We spent two nights at the hotel, and as a result incurred a parking charge of €56, I can only imagine the horror that could be waiting for another couple who could perhaps have the car in the car park for a week or so, only to check out and be presented with a car parking bill that was in the hundreds of euros. I pleaded with the Sales Manager (Catalina Istrate) to use her discretion, and she simply told me that it was all my fault, and that I had a responsibility as the customer to enquire as to whether or not there was a parking charge. Her entire demeanour and attitude was absolutely appalling, and I will definitely not be returning to this hotel! She insisted that all of the hotels parking charges were on the website we booked with, which they were not, and even if I had, it would not have hurt for them to tell us that this would come with a sizeable nightly charge. How do I known that this was the case, I would have arranged parking in the city at a considerably lower rate. I have stayed at hotels who have carparks and staff to park the guests cars all over the world and if there was a charge I would have always been informed at the time and many times the service was complimentary to hotel guests! Moreover, the minibar was not punished on our second morning, the room was not equipped with any means to request not to be disturbed. For two mornings we had housekeeping knocking on our door and letting themselves in at an early hour, despite us shouting for them to come back later. In the hotel room, there is a book containing information, and an entire double page spread listing information about the fines that a guest could expect to receive by doing any number of things, even including not returning one of your hotel room keys. I have never in my life heard of such a ludicrous thing. As a final point, that the hotel is contained within, it's far from desirable, and there are many other hotels in much more pleasant areas of the city. If you ever need to visit me, I would strongly advise avoiding this hotel.
It's fine. Nice and clean, big room with a new/modern sparse-type of feel.Comfy bed, although reading the reviews on here, I guess that's relative! I thought it was soft, not too hard. Official pictures give you a pretty accurate representation which is great. Service is fine, free water in the mini-bar was lovely. However, without breakfast included, it's not very competitive for value. There was nothing 'wrong' with my stay, it was fine. Probably would stay somewhere elsewhere next time, though. Stayed in a Superior Double Room.
Housekeeping wakes you up at 8 am every morning :( never had this in another hotel. she just jumps in the room close to central station clean rooms and large bathroom location is fine no breakfast was included in the price pillows not comfortable can recommend
